I checked out the Patricia Field for Payless Fall/Winter 2008-09 Collection, which includes a gladiator platform sandal, a modern/medieval ankle boot, a tall fringe boot, an over-the-knee suede boot, and an oversized black handbag. I call these "wear when it's dark" shoes because the poor quality in terms of construction was visibly noticeable from afar in the daylight hours. But if you wore them to a club, no one would know they cost you less than $60. However, the prices--even on sale--are a little steep for Payless. And the staggering 4.75-inch heels on these things prevented me from trying them on, so I can't attest to the comfort factor. Shop most of the collection here. And get more real-life pics after the jump...

I like the black platform boots, but ick at the price. Everything else looks so dated. Like I'd expect to see them on someone clubbing in the early 90's.

Thanks for posting this! I've been meaning to go by Payless to see what's new. They're definitely cute, but oh my the heels are way too uber-high for me. Joann is right - they almost look dated?

I also saw these in person just the other day- they look super cheap and super trashy in person, and TOTALLY dated... I would not be caught dead in any of them, not to mention it would be a complete joke to spend that kind of money at payless...

Well if you've looked at her website, you'll see that trashy is kind of her style thing! Rather disappointing and yawn if you ask me.

I love Patricia Fields, but I gotta pass on her shoes collection for Fall. Nothing here is a keeper. Those thick heels are killing the deal for me.

I watch sex and the city on the E network. At the beginning of each episode for a few seconds before the girls names appear, a pare of shoes are worn maybe be SJP. They are a peep toe pump, the heels are pink and the foot part is light orange, with a splash of green and yellow. I love those shoes and would love to know where to buy them and who is the designer.
