Spring's Best Short Sleeve Cardigans and How to Wear Them

There's no shortage of affordable short-sleeve cardigans, one of my spring wardrobe essentials, at stores like Target, Forever 21, Express, and Banana Republic. So today I decided to do something a little different and turn the spotlight on how to wear this versatile layering piece. The simplest way is probably over a short sleeve tee with jeans and cute accessories. You can also toss one over a dress or pair it with a skirt. The possibilities are endless! How will you be wearing yours this spring, and where have you found some good ones on the cheap?

Great post - I wore mine yesterday over a sparkly tank but in general I tend to keep away from the short sleeve ones...hate my arms with a passion!

The Banana Republic one is one sale in the Misty Mauve color (lavendar)- also wanted to mention it runs kind of big. I always wear a small and had to exchange for an XS.

The one Cameron Diaz is wearing looks very similar to one they have at Express right now for $29.50! Nice!

H&M had buy one get one free cardigans today, long sleeve but still lightweight, perfect for spring. I got 2 for 17.00 great colors too..hot pink, blues (3 shades) black, white, green, light pink, grays (shades) ...it was a great buy!

ps, i like the shoes in the BCBG picture! :-)

Love the look of a short sleeve cardigan with a long sleeve shirt. White shirt (which everyone has)with a black sweater. There you have your spring trend.

I also like the look of the long-sleeved t or blouse under a short sleeved sweater. Guess when the weather heats up that won't be such a good alternative though.

I'm sort of drooling over the Simply Vera Cocoon Cardigan. I'll have to stop by Kohl's and check it out in person. I really love Cameron's casual look, especially that high collared cardigan. Great post, BB!

Love the idea of wearing a short sleeve cardigan over a Springy floral dress or skirt. Much lighter feel then a long sleeve cardigan while still keeping the look polished and covered up.

i just bought thisone at express, and i love it! the ruffles add a little interest, but can still be dressed up or down. A little expensive, but its on sale & you can use coupons!
