L.A.M.B. Fall 2010 Makeup by MAC

Earlier I posted video of beauty expert Charlotte Tilbury for MAC Cosmetics chatting about the makeup looks she helped create for the L.A.M.B. Fall/Winter 2010 show, and now we have details on the products used to achieve this look. "The feeling was 1930's prostitute—trampy, smoky eye, deep 'rougeoir' lips and beautiful pale skin," Tilbury says.

For the sultry eyes, Tilbury used Eye Kohl in Smolder and Fluidline in Blacktrack, blended and smudged around and into the eyelid for a feline-shaped eye. She then dabbed Lip treatment on the eyelid over eye kohl for a wet-look effect.

To give skin a pale, doll-like quality, Tilbury applied face and body foundation. Finally for the those sexy red lips, she used LipMix in Crimson (Pro only) and burgundey, blended together and applied to the lip. Lip pencil in burgundy was applied around the lip to give an over-drawn shape to the mouth.

Ah, the prostitute look...just what every modern woman should aspire to!

Sigh.

Will we ever move on from the whole tramps and tarts thing? There's more to life than that isn't there...

You do have a point, we shouldn't really aspire to be like prostitutes! However I think there's something forbidden and subversive about it, that makes it edgy and therefore sexy to people. With this look you would really require a strong attitude to pull it off, which is also sexy so that's how I see the appeal to this look, not that it's about being trampy.

I'm not sure the makeup artist could find a less flattering look for herself. The black eyeliner makes her puffy eyes look tiny, it's the perfect of example of why women of a certain age shouldn't blindly follow whatever trend is hot.
