Beauty Review: Wet n Wild MegaLast Nail Color in Club Havana

Beauty Review: Wet n Wild MegaLast Nail Color in Club Havana

Wet n Wild sent me a couple of their new products to try out, including a bottle of MegaLast Nail Color in Club Havana, a vivid opaque orange which gets great coverage in 2 to 3 coats. (That's two coats shown above.) Orange is yet another hot nail color for the spring/summer season, and once you put it on, you'll know why. It's bright, bold and makes you want to lounge somewhere sunny and drink Mojitos.

I was pleasantly surprised by this new formula from Wet n Wild, which claims to provide "5 days of chip-resistant wear." It does, sorta of: Like many nail polishes it begins to fade at the tips BUT it won't chip outright. I prefer polishes that fade gradually rather than chip off in big flakes.

MegaLast nail color also comes with a wider redesigned brush, which I have come to depend on for even coverage. The wider brushes are just so much easier to use, I can't be bothered with the thin ones anymore.

The bottle is smaller than most at 0.30 fluid ounces but the $1.99 price more than reflects this. Personally I'd rather pay less, get less, and be able to try more colors when it comes to something like nail polish. I can't recall the last time I actually went through an entire bottle of polish, so these smaller bottles make sense.

Back to the color itself: It dries slightly darker than the bottle and looks like hot pink in certain lights. Orange looks fabulous on toes, so if you don't want to wear such a bold hue to work, etc., try it on your tootsies.

Can't wait to try another one of the 18 colors in this collection. Not as good as say, Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure, but definitely a decent polish that won't disappoint.

I agree with the "pay less, for less" statment...as far as nail polish goes. I have trouble finishing a whole bottle sometimes. I'd rather get a smaller bottle than end up wasting a bigger one.

I got a bottle of NYC Tangerine Creme last year thinking it was going to be more coral, but it was a similar orange - glad to hear it will be on trend this year! It's less than a dollar so it might be another cheap option for ladies who want to try out this shade.

I just bought the lavender color that other day! I'm loving the orange though!

OPI's A Good Mandarin is Hard to Find is my go-to color this spring and summer! It's brighter than your orange, but not neon. Love it!

Ooh, I love this idea! I hate spending 5 or 6 bucks on a bottle of nailpolish I leave by the wayside after a few applications. 2 coats for Wet n' Wild sounds reasonable.

I have never tried OPI, but I heard that it generally lasts longer, and applies thick. Would you say that's true? It's a little pricier than other brands, but I do love their color collection. I'm intrigued by A Good Mandarin is Hard to Find!

I just bought this and I'd say Club Havana is definitely a coral, not orange. I love it though, because it really does change from pink to orange depending on light/background. I keep staring at my fingertips :-D
