Beauty Review: Alba Hawaiian Spa Treatments

Beauty Review: Alba Hawaiian Spa Treatments

Recently I received four complimentary products from Alba Hawaiian Spa Treatments, a line of natural hypo-allergenic personal care products inspired by the beauty of the Hawaiian Islands. Days when I get a package like that make me really love my job, I'm not gonna lie.

I've been using the [1] Honeydew Nourishing Hair Conditioner, [2] Papaya Mango Exfoliating Body Wash, [3] Pineapple Enzyme Facial Cleanser and [4] Coconut Milk Body Cream for the past couple weeks and I seriously love them all. While none of the products have dramatically improved the quality of my hair or skin, let's face it, I'm very practical when it comes to beauty products and I don't expect miracles. But what I do demand is a product that works and won't make things worse, and that's what I've consistently found with all Alba products that I've tried so far (and I've used a couple of their products in the past which I purchased myself at Whole Foods and Target).

Each product smells beautiful, contains unique and fun natural ingredients, and makes pampering oneself a pleasure. According to the company, all Alba products are 100% vegetarian, paraben free, EU Cosmetics Directive Compliant, and made in the U.S.A without animal testing. I don't know what all the ingredients are exactly but I take comfort in the fact that they certainly smell and look "natural" (ie., not neon colors) and the company claims they are made from all-natural ingredients. The icing on the cake: Alba products are affordable and a helluva lot cheaper than taking a trip to Hawaii!

[1] Alba Honeydew Nourishing Hair Conditioner (12 oz bottle, $8.95): Smells clean, crisp and fresh, and it's surprisingly rich and thick for a "natural" conditioner.
[2] Alba Papaya Mango Exfoliating Body Wash (7 oz, $8.95): A super gentle exfoliating cleanser you can use everyday. Smells delicious, too!
[3] Alba Pineapple Enzyme Facial Cleanser (8 oz. $11.95): I can't get enough of the pineapple smell of this gentle cleanser. It's yummy and natural, not chemical-y. Leaves skin clean without the tightness.
[4] Alba Coconut Milk Body Cream (6.5 $11.95): I'm not a big body lotion person but this stuff is great, luxurious, rich formula that sinks in and leaves skin smooth, not oily. The smell is hard to describe but it's light and refreshing, not a heavy coconut smell at all. More like coconut cream.

You can find Alba Hawaiian Spa Treatments bath and body products in fine health fod and specialty stores including Whole Foods Markets and AlbaBotanica.com. And now Target carries them, too!

I'm so glad that you reviewed this brand. I was just looking at some of their products at my local grocery store this morning, but was hesitant to buy anything without seeing what other people have thought of the products. This has definitely made up my mind. Thanks!

I have some of the toner from this Alba brand, I like it, nothing fancy or too much to say about it. smells nice and gets the job done.

Thank goodness for this review! I have been eyeing this stuff at Walmart for a while. I think I might have to try the enzyme face cleanser.

I haven't tried the products you've listed here but I swear by their pineapple enzyme scrub! :-)

I have been using the coconut facial cleanser for awhile, and it's been great, no problems at all! A bonus is that my 6 yo son lets me wash his face with it and he likes it because it smells good and doesn't foam up and get in his eyes, so more bang for my buck there! Like a previous poster said, Walmart carries a few of the Alba products too, you can find near the Burt's Bees line of products.

I used the Facial Cleanser from Alba and ended up returning it. It wasn't a bad product, but I just wasn't impressed with it. I figure if I'm going to take the time to use it, I should like the way it cleanses. I ended up splurging on the Bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash, and love the way it makes my face feel :-)
