Camilla Belle's Alexander McQueen Look for Less

A long time ago I got a reader request to find a budget version of the Alexander McQueen dress that Camilla Belle wore to the premiere of her film Push. It's always tough to find knockoffs of such unique designs (which isn't necessarily a bad thing), but months later, I noticed a dress at Modcloth.com which will kind of give you a similar vibe for hundreds of dollars less than the McQueen -- it's called the Motel Queen of the Cosmos Dress and you can purchase it for $69.99 by clicking the image below. What do you think, close or no cigar?

This is certainly a tough dress to match so I think you did a great job--this is as close as you'll get without having to pay the big bucks!

I say no cigar. Often, when I see a certain designer look, I am in love with THAT particular item, and there's something about the originality that an "inspired-by" piece just doesn't capture. Of course, the rest of the time, I ONLY want the look, but usually that's with something simple, like "ohh I really like how K. Kardashian is wearing that BF cardigan with skinny jeans and riding boots" and don't feel like I need to be shown a place to find a white tee to get that part of the look right...in this case, LOVE the McQueen dress, not even close to love with the other. Sorry :-(

I like your suggestion better, although Camilla's dress wasn't that bad.

Nothing can compare to the original, but I think you did awesomely by finding an alternative that echoes the aesthetic of the original.

Not usually my thing but I like it! Think you captured the essence of the first dress

I say you did a great job matching the dress as close as you did. Patterns are difficult to do. If people don't like the alternative that's their problem.

Thanks ladies! I agree, matching patterns is tricky.

This is very educational content and written well for a change. It's nice to see some people still understand how to produce a quality post air max 2003 !
