Ask BB: How to Stylishly Conceal a Tattoo for A Wedding

My brother is getting married in September. I need to find a dress that covers a tattoo my parents (still!) don't know I have, and I don't want them to find out at the wedding. The tattoo is on my inner arm just below my elbow. It's so hard to find cute dresses with sleeves, I was wondering if you had any ideas? Love your blog, thanks! —Alicia D.

I have just the thing: A one-sleeve dress will look gorgeous and on-trend while at the same time concealing your tattoo (until you're ready to reveal it, all in due time!)

Here are some affordable options:

1. MM Couture One Shoulder Pleated Dress, $66
With it's bell sleeves and fitted waist, this dress exudes drama. The accordion pleats give it such great dimension and texture.

2. Deep V-Neck Long Sleeve Dress, $52
Of course you could also go with two long sleeves. This deep v-neck dress reminds me of Carrie's Halston dress from Sex and The City 2 (here), but the brilliant jewel-tone looks dressier. The shorter hemline and plunging neckline keep things exciting.

3. Hailey by Adrianna Papell Embellished One-Shoulder Gown, $160
If the wedding is more formal, look for a floor-length evening gown with one shoulder, like this one in a standout purple hue. The chiffon looks especially light and airy.

Ah. I have a wedding to go to next month but thankfully I don't have to cover the tats or take out piercings. I will, naturally, be dolled up in a tasteful manner yet sticking to my true style. If I didn't have an outfit already, I'd totally go for a look similar to the black dress. I usually cringe at one sleeve dresses but that is beautiful!
