Missoni for Target in Vogue

The August 2011 issue of Vogue magazine offers a delicious sneak peek at the upcoming Missoni for Target collaboration, which hits stores September 13th. I got the chance to scope out the 400+ piece collection at a press preview back in May and let me tell you, it is all that and a bag of chips.

I am dying to reveal more but in the meantime, feast your eyes on Margherita Missoni wearing a Target for Missoni skirt ($40) and sweater ($45), plus a couple items from the line decorating her new home including a rug ($30), bike ($400), trays ($20-$25) and ceramic canisters ($20). Notice how they blend in oh-so-seamlessly. Everything about this collection stays true to Missoni - except for the price. Huge thanks to a dear reader by the name of Phaedra for giving us all the heads up about the Vogue spread!

$45 for a Target sweater? a bit too rich for my blood.

Ditto... although I would spend $30 on the circle rug w/ the cute b&w print!

Me too! That is very affordable, especially for a Target collaboration! Can't wait for this to be released!!!

To Jennifer: how spoiled are you! I think $45 for the top and $40 for the amazing skirt are great value. Alas, any designer collab in Australia really slugs consumers. If we were fortunate enough to have a Missoni collab (which we do not), the prices would run more than double that even though the Aussie dollar is worth more than the USD. Count your blessings!

I love the home items. That bicycle is amazing!

Those ceramic canisters look beautiful, they add more beauty to flowers. Bike seems expensive though. Thanks for this post!

The rugs! I LOVE them! And $30 isn't dirt cheap, but it's also no more than many Pottery Barn or regular Target rugs. I might just have to splurge and get that flower vase as well. Funny, usually I like the clothing collections more than the home goods. I hope my store gets the full line.

How does that make Jennifer "spoiled"? If anything, it would suggest the opposite, if she doesn't drop $45 for a sweater at the drop of a hat. Let's play nice.

I am so excited for this entire collection! The prices are what they are, reasonably expensive and will add up if you go too nuts- I decided to prioritize clothing, then home storage items (I hope there will be Missoni style boxes for my stuff, just like Liberty of London for Target) and then home decor like: kitchen linens, vase, trays, and picture frames. I would like to get the rolling luggage, but can't justify it. Clothes however, and a few decorative pieces, total justification!

Love Missoni's colors and patterns, and this line seems to be no exception! Thanks for sharing the sneak peek!

WANT NOW!! Has there been any chatter about Tar-jay opening doors earlier than normal on Sept. 13? I can't believe they're launching this on a Tuesday instead of a Sunday -- I'll be taking a vacation day!
