Off the Rack: LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl's Shoes

During my last trip to Kohl's, I made my way to the shoe department to check out the latest from the LC Lauren Conrad collection. I have to be honest, the shoes in this collection are really hit or miss. The tall brown boots, for example, have a crazy high platform that make them impractical for most situations and considering they're not even real leather, they're way overpriced even on sale. The leopard flats, however, for just $18 and change are cute and a good find. A pair of black suede platform pumps looked nice but for the quality, you could do just as well at Target or Payless. I don't mean to sound harsh but I think Kohl's could really work on their shoes and handbags - either improve quality or lower prices. Otherwise, you can do better shopping places like the Marshalls Shoe Megashop or DSW, or brands like Steve Madden and Nine West that offer better quality and better prices. That isn't to say I won't be back - every once in a while, Kohl's delivers something uniquely chic in the shoe department (Simply Vera Vera Wang usually has a couple pairs that speak to me), and with my coupons and Kohl's cash in hand, I might just buy a pair.

These are actually from the J. Lo collection - very fun (the rest didn't seem worth photographing...)

Even some of the cute, decently priced shoes I've gotten from Kohl's seem to fall apart super fast compared to other similar shoes, especially the Simply Vera Wang ones. It's so disappointing.

I agree with you - they should come down more on their prices. I do have those LC black platform pumps, though (bought on sale with coupon) and they are super-comfy!

I couldn't agree with you more regarding Kohl's shoes vs. Marshalls/TJ Maxx.

I routinely buy shoes at Marshalls/TJ Maxx, but always pass by Kohl's.

Those J Lo pumps might be worth something. My eye was drawn towards those pink animal skin heels laying in the background.

I haven't been to impressed with their shoes. I went back and got the gray LC skinny cords and a black floral pleated top. I found some really cute shoes at Payless. Some great wedges in red suede, leopard, and nude. Also got some Christian Siriano leopard flats. Extra 20% off!!

The quality looks horrible in the photos, but the bedazzled shoes look excellent on your feet. ROCK it!

I bought some crazy comfortable A2 by Aerosole brand boots in the fall that I love. That said, this year I did find Kohl's shoes to be largely impractical or frumpy, and expensive.

I agree 100%! I tried to buy a few pairs of shoes from Kohl's a while ago and ended up returning them. And the handbags? Cheap. I love Dillard's, Marshall's and TJ Maxx for these items!
