Authentic Icon for Kohl's

Kohl's has launched an exclusive American Idol-inspired apparel collection called Authentic Icon (it was only a matter of time, right?). If you watch Idol, you probably saw the top ten contestants getting decked out in their Authentic Icon duds with the help of designer Tommy Hilfiger, who has been mentoring the budding superstars on achieving their signature looks. The collection for teen girls and guys includes things like graphic tees, tops, jackets, jeans and dresses with a rock 'n' roll edge. But it's not exactly allowance-money friendly: A graphic halter maxi dress is priced at $72.99 (down from $98). My advice: Get in on the Idol action for free by entering Kohl's sweepstakes to win one of four trips to see the show's finale, while 50 runners-up will each win a $100 Kohl's gift card.

I saw this line on the Kohl's site a few days ago and the prices definitely got me to do a double take. A tank top that started at $58 was not what I was expecting!

It's crazy, Authentic Icon is a teen/juniors brand so prices should be comparable to Candie's. And I get that they put everything on sale almost immediately after it hits the racks, but still, it's the principle!

It's Kohl's, so there's a big difference between the tag price and what you actually pay. If you check now you'll find that the prices are really, really good. I just picked up a pair of jeans for like $30. Crazy good deal.

Right now the entire line is $9.99. Yeah so, i paid $10 for a jacket with a MSRP of $128. I didn't know it was from the he Idol line though. So now I feel ripped off, since I'm like 25 and wearing it will put me at the cold shoulder of anyone tall enough to sass me. That's what I get for not reading department signs- I thought it was R&R!
