The gingham was done on a fashion-forward stiletto nail in various colors to complement the prints found in the exuberant, retro fashions. Each gingham pattern starts with two coats of Amazing Grace, an opaque pure white lacquer, with a high-shine finish, as the base. From there, striping brushes were used to paint the lines for the pattern. A pink gingham pattern was created using I Kissed a Girl, a demi-matte pink from the Run the World (Girls) set.



The royal blue gingham was created using My Prerogative from the She's Always a Woman set, and the yellow is It Girl also from the Run the World (Girls) set, while Lara's Theme - a shade created with Lara Stone - represents the orange.



Adding another level of creativity to the looks, Deborah created a custom mint green lacquer for the show using a combination of existing shades - Amazing Grace, On the Beach and Yellow Brick Road.



While chatting with Deborah, she shared this DIY trick to help you recreate the look at home: Make a stencil out of Scotch tape, making sure your base coat is completely dry before you apply the tape. Paint your stripes in one direction, then remove the tape, allow to dry, and repeat in the opposite direction.



Some of the models sported a full set of clean white nails (seen also at Honor), created by using two coats of Amazing Grace, and all the models had white toes.



I was completely mesmerized by the nails and thought they complemented the collection perfectly. I've attempted gingham in the past and failed miserably but this show definitely inspired me to give it another try. Gingham nail polish strips would be fab, too (hint, hint!)
