The Look for Less: Kitsch Hair Ties

Kitsch hair ties are all the rage right now. They're supposed to be really gentle on hair (no breakage or pulling) and look super pretty whether worn on a ponytail or your wrist. You can get a 5 pack of these nylon hair ties in a bunch of fun colors and patterns on mykitsch.com for between $10 - $16. Anthropologie sells a set of 5 for $12 (here). I first saw them on Cupcakes & Cashmere, and Emily definitely makes these hair ties look irresistible.

Looking for a drugstore alternative? Goody just came out with their own line of ouchless hair ties, and they're just $3.99 for a 5 pack. I haven't seen these online yet as they are so new, but I spied them at my local Target and snapped the photo below. Hopefully they'll come out with more colors and designs. Check Goody.com for a list of retailers that sell them.

While very pretty, they do not hold the hair very right. For a loose style, they fit the bill.

Agreed with the girls above! I was so excited for these, but they lead to droopy ponytails :-(

please don't buy these. you can order five yards of the elastic on bitsybands and make a million of them.

I've been using these on my daughter for 4 years now, surprised they are just catching on now. She has long, curly hair and these don't get tangled like other bands. Thanks for the cheaper alternative. Justice and Target have versions too--in the kid's section.

These are my new obsession! They are fabulous for my super fine hair. I have a set of them in my etsy shop (Couture Flower) that I am selling for $2 and I will be launching more colors in the next week.

They are at Dollar Tree; $1.00 for a pkg. of four or five (can't remember).
