4 Simple (But Sophisticated!) Pumpkin Decorating Ideas

Stylish ways to paint a pumpkin this Halloween

One of the first steps to making the most of your October is to deck out your home with pumpkins. You do not have to change the style of any room when you add bright orange pumpkins. Use these DIY ideas for decorating pumpkins in a way that compliments the colors, texture, and feminine look of your home.

Bows & Burlap: The burlap on this pumpkin reminds me of hay barrels and scarecrows because of the neutral color. The silky pink bow adds a preppy, soft touch to the burlap. Paint glue onto the pumpkin, leaving a bit of orange at the top. Wrap burlap string around the glued area. Tie a pretty bow around the stem for the finishing touch!

Polka Dot Pumpkin: This classic pumpkin looks great in any room. I used white tacks for the polka dots and simply poked them into the pumpkin all around. You can use any kind of tacks you want!

Ghostly Glam: I painted this pumpkin completely white with acrylic paint. This modern look is perfect for evening parties. I picture this pumpkin in a room with chandeliers and velvet couches. Try any color that matches your style!

Blooming Beauty: Using a pumpkin for a flower vase is sure to wow your friends! Cut the stem off of the pumpkin and empty out the inside. Fill the pumpkin with water and add your choice of fall flowers. I love sticking with the autumn colors of orange, pink and purple.
