8 Tee 4: Forever 21's Answer to American Apparel?

Forever 21 has dedicated a portion of its website to a new mini-line of athletic-inspired basics called 8 TEE 4. As I flipped through the 8TEE4 lookbook, I couldn't help but wonder if this line of cotton and spandex basics—such as tees, mini-skirts and burn-out tanks—modeled in a mildly provocative way might be Forever 21's response to the growing popularity of retailers like American Apparel. It could just signal the fact that the young fashion crowd loves their basics—they're cheap, comfy, cute and can be styled in an infinite number of ways. Hotpants, oversized sweatshirts and neon brights also tie in well with all the retro-love going on in fashion right now.

At any rate, those are just some of my casual observations, check out the complete 8TEE4 collection for yourself here.

i've been surprisingly pleased with all of my casual throw-on t-shirts from f21. i love AA, but if i can get those pieces for a lot less, i'll be hitting up f21 for sure!

^^^ ITA. I purchased a simple black V-neck Tee for $3.50 last weekend from F21 as well as a scoop neck tee that cost about 10 bucks. Love them both. I also have a few of those bandeau tops the model is wearing in the middle pic above-- perfect for layering under burnout tees and deep, deep V-neck shirts!

It seems retailers are quick to jump on a bandwagon once they realize something is popular. I love F21 and AA (even though AA ads are ridiculous in my opinion). It's just annoying. I'll buy basics where ever and always on the cheap.

I agreed with Roxanne, somehow AA is just a bit too much for me most esp if its really basic stuff not unless I snagged some deals on their sale rack.
I think I rather shop at my local target for it than to buy it from there. I am not a F21 fan but some stuff are just irresistible to buy!
