Patrick Robinson for Target

From 5/13 through 5/19, you can shop new looks from Patrick Robinson for Target online, before they arrive in stores—but nothing has made it into our shopping cart so far. Frankly, we were craving a tad more color this time of year, so the neutral palette left us feeling disappointed.

On the plus side, there's nothing overly trendy about the Patrick Robinson collection aside from tunics, which are a perennial favorite for summer anyways.

Naturally, this left us feeling torn.

To arrive at our final verdict, we decided to evaluate how Patrick Robinson handled the hallmark item of the season: the dress. After all, a collection can only be as strong as its interpretation of the reigning must-have. Having browsed the still limited selection, we settled upon this Patrick Robinson Crisscross Strap Knit Dress in Ebony—the pros are that it's simple, versatile, comfortable and sexy (not to mention a steal at $24.99). The cons: it only comes in black and the wide, gathered straps that cross in back mean you'll have to wear a strapless bra or cami underneath it.

At the risk of sounding apprehensive, we firmly assert that we are as yet undecided. Hopefully, whatever we see in actual stores will tip the scales in favor of this latest Go Designer.

Fab Jewelry Finds from Banana Republic

Banana Republic consistently stands out for their unique and fashionable jewelry that won't go out of style when the next season rolls around. We recommend heading to a store near you and sifting through their sale bins first. Here are some sparkly treasures available online...we're especially impressed by the turquoise drop earrings, reminiscent of a costly pair by Italian jeweler Ippolita (check out their drool-worthy designs for fun—they are stunning). Happy hunting!

Things We Love: Isabelle de Borchgrave for Target

Springtime makes us feel adventurous. Maybe that means getting a new do, cleaning out our closets or riding our bike to work. Or perhaps it means inviting over a few close friends and throwing a spring soirée.

If you opt for the latter, Target's got just the thing for the cheap-'n-chic hostess: Isabelle Party, a collection of colorful paper goods to create a perfect tabletop designed by renowned Belgian artist Isabelle de Borchgrave.

Brimming with lively brush strokes and vibrant patterns, Isabelle's collection includes everything from centerpieces, tablecloths, runners, placemats and serving bowls, to place cards, plates, napkins, napkin rings, candles and chair covers. We love how effortlessly you can mix and match pieces—it makes for easy entertaining that's high on style and low in price.

Random Act of Kindness: TOMS Shoes

Pink Camo TOMS, $38.00

It's a match made in heaven—charitable giving and of all things, buying shoes! Who do we have to thank for this noble endeavor? Fashion shoe-gooder Blake Mycoskie, an entrepreneur who was a former contestant on The Amazing Race and the founder of TOMS Shoes.

The concept is simple: For each pair of TOMS shoes that you buy, another pair will be donated to a child in need. The idea was born from Blake's trips to Argentina, where he was inspired by the people and the culture (TOMS are modeled after the utility shoes of Argentine workers, which apparently are also popular among polo players and their stylish girlfriends). At the same time, Blake was moved by the poverty that he witnessed, and so his mission to improve the lives of thousands of kids through shoes came to be.

We ordered a pair to keep in the car for driving...we think they'd be great for Tai Chi or yoga, too. Or, wear in lieu of flip-flops, Stan Smiths or Converse sneaks. Any way you look at it, buying TOMS means taking a step in the right direction.
