Marshall's Cube Disappoints

Marshall's The Cube

For months I waited for the Marshall's near my house to open up one of their hyped-up Cubes, an in-store boutique that's supposed to feature the latest styles for teens and misses. But then I actually went to one in Boston, and two in Chicago, and well, they're not that great. If you don't have one near you, you're not missing out.

Yea or Nay: Hayden-Harnett for Target Collection

Hayden Harnett for Target

Not too long ago, we brought you a first look at the Hayden-Harnett for Target accessory collection. Now that's it's been in stores for a couple weeks and you've had a chance to see the goods in person, what do you think? My Target didn't actually have the collection in stock, ahem, on December 28th when the line was supposed to launch! So annoying. Apparently shipments were delayed at many Target locations nationwide.

So anyways, I saw the collection this past week during a routine visit, and I thought it looked pretty good. Overall, I think they did a good job: The bags had vibrantly hued linings, lots of pockets, decent structure, and overall looked more costly than their pricetags which is half the battle with these cheaper lines.

I was encumbered by a 24-pack of toilet paper and was trying to get home before a snowstorm, so I hurried off without buying anything, but I'm thinking of ordering the brown double-flap handbag online. Has anyone purchased anything from the Hayden-Harnett for Target collection? What do you think of the quality/design/prices?

Guess Which Booties Cost More

Is it just me, or are shoes gradually becoming more and more...aggressive? Designers seem to be adding ever more straps, spikes, studs, whips and chains (OK, maybe not whips—yet) to our footwear. Sign of the times, I guess, and for the most part, I say bring it on. Here are two pairs of peep-toe booties that have been bound with buckles. Both are edgy and fierce, but only one is what I'd consider to be affordable. Can you guess which is which?

Orla Kiely Housewares for Target

If you can hold out until the first week of February to start organizing, you'll be rewarded with the retro fabulous goodness that is the Orla Kiely housewares collection for Target. One word: Love. Reminds me of the funky mellow fruit wallpaper everyone used to have in their kitchens back in the day. I think the two-tier serving tray would be the perfect place to store perfume bottles, or possibly jewelry. More pics after the jump. Are you looking forward to this line for your home?
