My New Stacked Crystal Lamp from Target

Budget Decor: My New Stacked Crystal Lamp from Target

The hunt for a stacked crystal ball lamp ended today! I finally found one at Target (recommended by some readers) and I loved it. It's not as luxe as the Pottery Barn one, and I never did see the one at JCPenney, but for $35.99, I think it's exactly what my desk needed! It's the perfect size and I love how the balls go from big to small. In the store I was afraid it looked too plastic-y, but at home, it looks fantastic! Thanks again to everyone for sharing your feedback. Depending on what you're looking for, I think both Target and JCPenney offer great versions of this classic style lamp that will add a chic touch to your home.

Off the Rack: Spring Trends at Zara

Spring's MILITARY TREND played out at Zara in structured jackets, lots of khaki and subdued camo prints. (jacket shown here, $129)

If you have the good fortune of living near a Zara, you will be treated to a sophisticated selection of early Spring fashion offerings. Gone are the blacks and grays of winter, and in their place, lots of pale neutrals, and colors like rose, camel, gray blue and off-white. Zara caters to the urban, modern shopper so a lot of the clothes are work appropriate and priced closer to the $100 mark. I was most excited about the accessories but those are tricky to photograph, as you can imagine. Gorgeous studded sandals, denim platforms, slouchy genuine leather hobos, fab belts, lightweight scarves, chic flats—the works! Again, not cheap but worth taking a look. Here are a few pics I snapped to give you a taste of what's in store.

Off the Rack: Chinese Laundry Spring 2010 Styles

Off the Rack: Chinese Laundry Spring 2010 Styles

Last month I was invited to check out the latest Spring 2010 styles from Chinese Laundry as well as their sub brands, CL Wash, CL by Laundry, and Dirty Laundry, in NYC. Lots of fun new styles, plus repeat trends from last season which is always good because you can get more wear out of the shoes you already own! Casual styles include neon canvas sneaks, super cushy flip flops (they feel like Havaianas), embellished jellies and funky wellies. For nightlife, I was loving the black mesh heels and velvet platforms. For day to night, I saw bejeweled gladiator sandals and ruffled thongs, perfect for spring break or summer. I got also a sneak peek at next Fall's styles, which I can't show you, but I can tell you that buckles and studs are coming back, plus lots of ankle booties, moto- and Western-inspired boots. Most styles are under $100 and you can find all the details at ChineseLaundry.com. Keep reading for more shoes, glorious shoes!

My New Hype "Janice" Handbag from T.J. Maxx

My New Hype Janice Handbag from T.J. Maxx

Last week I asked you guys if I should splurge on a leather Hype bag that I found at T.J. Maxx on clearance for $99 (had the red tag), and the majority of you responded with a resounding YES! So, encouraged by all the positive feedback, I went back and got the bag. Couldn't be happier with my decision. You'd think I'd have tons of black bags sitting around my closet, but the last time I purchased a black bag was back in January 2008 (it's the Foley & Corinna knockoff from Forever 21 shown here), so it was definitely time for me to update my black-bag look.

If you like the Hype Janice, too, reader Christina found it at SmartBargains.com in tan or nutmeg for $103.98, which seems to be the best price currently on the web. I also found this bag in a fabulous teal or orange shade at Endless.com, use the widget below to check those options out. Thanks for all the help!!
