Never mind the fact that the only time you've actually ridden a motorcycle was a one-time stint during a study abroad program back in college. And you weren't actually doing the driving, you were a somewhat terrified backseat passenger. And it wasn't really a motorcycle, it was a noisy, sputtering moped. The point is, you don't have to be a biker chick to wear a moto jacket, a Fall 2010 Fashion Trend that adds a hint of cool to casual outfits. Wear yours with jeans and a t-shirt or with a dress, tights and boots. No need to hold on tight, this trend is a safe bet for just about everyone.

Off the Rack: September Offerings at Old Navy




Recently I received a $100 giftcard and an invitation from Old Navy to check out their latest fall offerings and share my experience with readers. So I headed to my nearest Old Navy store yesterday and within minutes, I had found my perfect lightweight fall jacket, an olive green cargo-style number with an upbeat rose plaid lining, utilitarian pockets and hood. The price was right too, just $44.50. I've been following the whole cargo jacket trend for what seems like months now, and this affordable option from Old Navy seems to be a great way to get in on this trend for less. I can wear it while walking my dog with jeans and oxford flats or pair with my edgy leather-look leggings and combat boots when I'm feeling more fashion-y. The next item I scooped up was a super soft fitted plaid shirt which I thought was a little pricey at $26.50 but the cut and color was perfect, it felt feminine not lumberjack, so I scooped it up. Finally, I picked up some totally basic black sweatpants and a zip-up hoodie for $15 a piece because I needed them for an upcoming camping trip and lounging around the house once. Total spent was $84!
