What I'm Wearing: Sperry Top-Sider Chatsworth Boot

You're probably familiar with Sperry Top-Sider, a brand that's been making boat shoes for decades, but you probably had no idea that they also make amazing boots for fall and winter, from rain boots to the luxe shearling wedge Chatsworth Boots you see me wearing here, compliments of Sperry Top-Sider. The construction is great, the boots are warm and fit true to size (the unique toggle closures make them wide-calf-friendly) and I love the look -- but I'm slightly petrified to wear them in the snow for fear of getting them dirty! Retailing at $225, these would definitely be a splurge but you would be stylish and cozy. Here, I paired my Chatsworth Boots with my Joe's jeans, Old Navy henley, Forever 21 sweater and Linea Pelle hobo via ideeli.com. Check out all of Sperry Top-Sider's fab boots at sperrytopsider.com.

First Look: William Rast for Target in ELLE

Earlier we got a sneak peek at the William Rast for Target collection thanks to Marie Claire, and now we have another glimpse via the December 2010 issue of ELLE magazine. The two page advertisement features a model in a white tee, black blazer and patchwork denim jeans. It seems so basic and yet that probably means I'll want to actually wear a lot of the pieces! Prices for the collection, which will be available from Dec. 19 through Jan. 22, start at $17.99. Get more details as they unfold here and at target.com/williamrast.

Off the Rack: LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl's November Offerings

On Friday I did a little shopping at Kohl's, where all LC Lauren Conrad collection clothing was marked down 35-40% off - meaning most items were well under $50. Had I used my Kohl's charge, I could have gotten additional discounts but instead I used a giftcard, courtesy of Kohls, to purchase an embellished tank top (above) for $36.99. I thought I paid $23.99 until a few moments ago when I checked my receipt for the purpose of writing this post. The moral of the story: Double check prices before you check-out!

Other items I liked included a lace jacket, lace-back cardigan, leather-look jacket (previously shown here), and "granny floral" blouse. A cropped fur jacket seemed to have potential - might be cute with a cocktail dress, or it might look like you've been attacked by a teddy bear. On the rack, many pieces looked lackluster (like the shapeless sweaters) but I recommend trying things on. A shopping buddy of mine observed that the LC collection lacks petites and cold-weather clothing, but if you're looking for a cute top or cocktail dress to wear for a casual night out, you might find some gems.
