Tracy Reese Fall 2011 Runway Show

Today I attended the Tracy Reese Fall 2011 runway show, part of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Lincoln Center. I can honestly say this is one of my favorite shows because the fashions are fun, the music is always upbeat and the crowd always looks good. The first look set the tone, a flowing merlot pleated maxi skirt contrasted with a chunky sweater. Most of the looks and colors - like curry yellow, camel, black and deep reds - referenced a 70s glamour but felt totally current and modern. I love Tracy Reese's use of patterns and eclectic embellishments, from sequins and pailettes to faux fur - each garment feels special yet totally wearable provided you have the attitude to rock it. If you love these looks, don't think they're totally out of reach - sites like Gilt Groupe often do sales with Tracy Reese and you could easily treat yourself to one of her amazing party frocks.
