Jason Wu for Target: First Look

T Magazine has a first look at two pieces from Jason Wu's upcoming collaboration with Target, including a gamine chic sailor striped dress ($40) and structured two-tone satchel ($50). The collection is inspired by French New Wave films and the actress Jean Seberg. "My goal was not to duplicate anything from my main collection," says Wu. "Instead I designed completely new clothes and accessories that reflect my taste and have a voice of their own."

Unfortunately I wasn't invited to the press preview this time around (Target's PR told me it was an accident) so I can't speak to any of the other pieces. We'll just have to wait and see! The two items shown above are totally my style so I'm eager to see more.

Have you forgiven Target for the Missoni debacle? I suppose I have, I can't stay angry with Target for very long, apparently. Are you ready to shop Jason Wu come February 5th?

Jane by Design Blogger Challenge 5: White Shirt for Day or Night

As you may know, I've been taking part in a blogger challenge in conjunction with a new show on ABC Family called Jane by Design which actually premieres tonight at 9/8c! For our fifth style challenge, we were asked to take a plain white button down shirt and style it for a day at the office, then change the look up and show how we'd style the same shirt for a dressy cocktail party.

For my work look, I topped the white shirt with a LOFT sweater and added a strand of pearls and cross-body bag.

For night, I removed the sweater, added a statement necklace and tied the blouse to create a more defined waist. Additionally, I would add some red lipstick and a clutch to finish this party-ready look.

What do you think? How would YOU style a white shirt for day or night? Share your ideas on the Jane by Design Facebook page.

Also, if you'd like to help me win the competition (winner gets a mention on the show!) please drop a quick note on the Jane by Design Facebook page and tell them The Budget Babe sent you. Thanks so much!
