Jason Wu for Target in Lucky Mag

Consider this your second look at the Jason Wu for Target collection, this time in the form of a print ad seen in Lucky magazine. The ad features a pleated pink and yellow striped dress. Milu the cat (and muse of the collection) also makes an adorable appearance.

Yesterday T Magazine gave us our first look (here), namely, a striped poplin dress and two-tone structured satchel, priced at $40 and $50 respectively.

Glamour also has shared a photo (our, um, third look?) of a printed, collared dress and boxy patterned handbag from Wu's capsule, both of which are priced at $40.

I can't wait for this collection to come out February 5th. Until then, I'll keep you posted as additional images become available!

Jane by Design Blogger Challenge 7: Get the Look

In case you missed it, I've been participating in a blogger challenge for ABC Family's new show Jane by Design, which premiered last night - did you see it? I watched, thought it was cute!

So back to our challenge: For my 7th and final challenge, I was tasked with creating a "get a look" post. Since I feature celebrity looks for less almost every day, I decided to show you how to get the look of the star of Jane by Design, Jane Quimby (played by Erica Dasher):

Jane is a high-school fashionista who leads a double-life as an assistant at a fashion design house (it's sorta like Ugly Betty meets Devil Wears Prada). Jane is young and adorable and definitely in the experimental phase of her fashion life - this look is a mix of girly and grown-up, kinda like Jane's character.

And that's it, my final challenge is complete! If you've enjoyed following along, you can show your support by visiting the Jane by Design Facebook page and posting a comment on their wall (don't forget to tell them "The Budget Babe sent me!")

The blogger with the most "buzz" will get mentioned on the TV show, so it's a pretty cool prize and I really need your help to win. Thanks to everyone who has helped so far, let's make one final push for the win - you may comment as often as you'd like. Thanks again!

Jane by Design Blogger Challenge 6: Pretzel Magic

I'm taking part in a blogger challenge hosted by ABC Family's new show Jane by Design, and today I'm moving on to Challenge #6: Create something amazing with pretzels.

My first thought was to make some pretzel-embellished picture frames. So I grabbed my trusty glue gun and got to work.

Inexpensive IKEA frames make the perfect base.

Just glue, stick and repeat.

Experiment with different shapes and patterns.

Spray your frames with two or three coats of spray paint and allow to dry.

Add your favorite photos and your frames are ready to be displayed.

Here's a close-up. It's kindergarten chic, no? Actually I think they're kinda cute!

Have you ever been inspired to make something stylish out of unexpected items? Click here and let me know on the Jane by Design Facebook page. Please tell them "The Budget Babe sent me" while you're there - the blogger with the most reader "buzz" wins the grand prize, which is a mention on the TV show. Thanks a million for your support!
