Off the Rack: March Shoe Highlights at Marshall's

In addition to Instagramming my recent trip to Marshall's, I also snapped some photos with my camera in the Shoe Mega Shop for your viewing pleasure. The shelves were stocked with sandals that touched on all the major spring trends, like colorblocking, python, bright prints and sky-high wedges. In terms of brands, I saw the usual suspects: Steve Madden, Dolce Vita, Nine West and BCBGeneration, to name a few. A lone pair of Lavender by Vera Wang leather ballet flats caught my eye (this was the first time I've seen this brand, which is nice). I was hoping to find some leather or suede smoking flats but didn't have any luck. This was mostly a scouting mission anyways, so I'll be back. Oh yes.

White by Vera Wang Spring 2012 Bridal Lookbook

Get your pinning fingers ready: Here are the new wedding gown styles from the White by Vera Wang Spring 2012 Collection. The collection takes inspiration from the delicate form of flowers and their feminine appeal, and includes strapless gowns in taffeta and gazaar with asymmetrically draped bodices in soft hues of white, ivory and blush. The collection also includes contemporary looks styled with clean, simple details in updated mermaid and A-line silhouettes and sweetheart, strapless and asymmetrical necklines.

It's hard to pick a favorite, and you really have to try these on to see which looks best on your body (speaking from experience, hehe) but I really love the blush pink ballgown above and the strapless gown with the big grosgain bow (below). So romantic.

As some of you may know, I wore White by Vera Wang for my September wedding and I couldn't have been happier with my decision. It was truly the perfect dress for the best day of my life. I know I've been promising to share wedding photos forever now (still haven't picked my wedding album photos lol) but you may click on over to my photographer's blog Roya Jade (she's amazing) to see a few highlights.

White by Vera Wang's Spring 2012 wedding gowns are priced between $500 - $1,500. To view the entire collection, including shoes, veils, sashes, bridesmaid dresses and accessories, visit www.WhitebyVeraWang.com

Alberta Ferretti for Macy's Impulse

I didn't even realize Alberta Ferretti was teaming up with Macy's Impulse until earlier this week when I received the invitate to the press preview in New York City. Oops. In case you also missed the memo, Italian designer Alberta Ferretti is creating an affordable collection of feminine dresses in a variety of lengths, lightweight pants, peasant-style blouses and knitwear.

A color palette of saturated oranges, pinks and teals juxtaposed with muted whites and tans creates a breezy, laid back mood reminiscent of the Amalfi coast.

Key items will include bold-hued dresses in maxi and strapless styles, bohemian blouses, oversized and abstract floral prints and macramé and lace detailing, priced on average from $49 – $119.

The limited-edition capsule will be available in approximately 185 Macy's stores nationwide and on macys.com beginning April 17, just in time for the spring shopping season.

While you wait in eager anticipation, shop the current designer collab with Doo-Ri Chung at macys.com/impulse.

Who else is blown away by this latest collab?

Fashion Star Premieres Tonight

Fashion Star premieres at a special time tonight on NBC (9:30-11 p.m. ET), a show whose mission is to find the next big brand in fashion. Featuring host and executive producer Elle Macpherson along with celebrity mentors Jessica Simpson, Nicole Richie and John Varvatos, the series will give 14 unknown designers the chance to win a multi-million dollar prize to launch their collections in three of America's largest retailers: Macy's, H&M and Saks Fifth Avenue.

Here's where it gets exciting: The winning designs that you see on TV will be available online immediately following the show at www.HMfashionstar.com, www.macys.com/FashionStar, and Saks Fifth Avenue's Fashion Star Shop and in stores the very next day.

Along the way designers whose items have not been bought will be eliminated until there are only three designers left in the final episode. These designers will then create "complete collections" that are available in all three retailers.

It will be hard to compete with Project Runway but I love all things fashion on TV, so I'm going to watch - who knows, I might even shop the looks if they're good. How about you, excited for this show?!
