Behind the Blog with the New Jeep Compass: What Drives The Budget Babe

Recently I had the opportunity to shoot a "Behind the Blog" video for Glam Media on behalf of the new Jeep Compass. For those who know me, I love cars and I love to drive so I jumped on the opportunity to learn more about this new ride while sharing my story as a fashion blogger. It all started back in 2007 when I was working as a web producer for Oprah.com. I had a reputation at the office for being the "stylish" one, or at least the girl obsessed with bargain hunting at my favorite stores like Target and Forever 21.

When my boyfriend (now fiance) suggested I started a blog, I wasn't even sure what a blog was (although I had been reading fashion blogs, I was not familiar with the lingo). The moment I started sharing my passion for all-things-budget friendly online, I knew I had tapped into something bigger than myself. I knew instantly that this was something I could really run with, and here I am, four years later, still obsessed with finding the latest deals, stalking the trends, and sharing them with you, my reader!

What excites me about fashion is that it's constantly changing - there are always new trends and new technologies to discuss them. What drives me to blog are my readers - you keep me on my toes, motivating me to stay one step ahead (or at least try!) I learn something new each day and I never know what new opportunities will present themselves (like driving a Jeep Compass around Manhattan with a camera crew - crazy fun!)

So thanks for reading...and stay tuned for my Jeep Compass video, coming soon!

This sure beats the pants off of what you were driving way back in the O.com days! You've come a long way on so many levels. I'm always so proud of you.

SWEET! I love the background info on why you started a blog! Very inspirational because it sounds like me around my office! I've had several coworkers tell me I need to start a blog and though I've tried several times, it's just hard to keep going! But when I get comments on my small little piece of web property, it is a major motivator to keep going. I think that being more active on twitter and posting my blog link has driven traffic to my site because I've been getting a few comments from visitors I don't know.

Thank you for this post! I think it came at the right time for me! I've followed you for awhile now and I love your finds! Love you and your friendly personality. Keep it up!
