Included in a recent press package from Kohl's was this adorable LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl's ruffle racerback dress, and it just so happened to be my size so I'm keeping it! The coloration makes it unique - a cherry red with contrasting pale grey trim - while the defined waistline and knee-length hem makes it flattering (I'm 5'8" for your reference.) The fabric drapes beautifully and doesn't wrinkle easily (it's polyester) and although it's on the thin side, it works well for summer. My birthday is coming up so I'm planning on wearing this out with heels and a clutch but I think it works equally well with flat sandals and a crossbody bag.
If you like the look, you can click the image below to shop this exact dress at Kohls.com. It's available in sizes 4-14 for $45 (down from $60). Also, get 30% off any order with code SAVEATKOHLS for a limited time (not sure when this code expires).
{What I'm wearing: LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl's dress, Steve Madden sandals (purchased on this trip to Marshalls, Mimi Boutique messenger bag}

For a minute there, I thought you had gone and gotten yourself a Mulberry bag, and all I could think was "NO! You are the Budget Babe! If you start trying to pass off a $1200 bag as an 'investment piece' I will lose it!" Then I saw it was from Mimi Boutique. How is the quality of their faux leather? I'm thinking of ordering a bag.
FYI, the Kohl's press packs include a sampling of what's in store for the upcoming season, so this time I got some back to school items, college dorm things, etc. which I usually A) give away to friends and family B) donate to Goodwill or my church or C) giveaway to readers (if it's fashion/beauty related, not going to give away a boy's hoodie lol)
Also, I don't have many (any?) luxury brands knocking on my door so I don't anticipate a Mulberry bag anytime soon ...unless I win the lottery! The Mimi Boutique is a great alternative, I just wish the strap was more comfortable. I'm always loading that thing up, laptop, wallet, change of shoes, etc. so it inevitably weigh me down and hurts my shoulder. If you don't overstuff, it's a good bag. The ones at Target were almost as good for a lot less
Definitely going to check out the quality on this dress to see if its worth it
