Spot the Real: J.Crew Striped Skirt

Spot the Real: Striped Skirts

During my recent trip to the J.Crew outlet store, I spotted a graphic black and white striped skirt that instantly reminded me of a similar skirt I had seen elsewhere. While the J.Crew skirt is currently sold out, it originally retailed for $74.50. The look for less is now just $29.99. Can you tell which skirt costs $44.50 more than the other?

DIY Paint Chip Wall Art Tutorial Inspired by the J.Crew Store

DIY Paint Chip Wall Art // www.thebudgetbabe.com

I'm often inspired by the beautiful interiors of retail spaces, and on a recent trip to J.Crew I noticed a simple yet intriguing piece of art hanging on the wall that made me stop and think, "I could do that!" So I did. If anyone knows who the original artist is, please let me know in the comments. Aside from fashion my true love is art and I would love to know who created this piece. Ok, now on to the how to! It's super easy and essentially free (how's that for budget?) aside from purchasing a frame.

Canada Goose Parka Lookalikes Under $100 to Combat the Blizzard of 2015 in Style

Canada Goose lookalikes under $100

This past Thanksgiving when I visited my family in Chicago, we made our routine visit to our favorite shopping mall on the North Shore, and I was stunned to see nearly every other fashionable shopper sporting a Canada Goose coat. I say "stunned" because these coats retail for close to $1,000. How are they affording these coats?! I thought to myself. Then I started thinking of ways to find the look for less. You can find lookalikes on sites like eBay, but I would forego the fakes and just pick up a stylish parka from one of your fave budget retailers, like Asos or Forever 21. Your look for less won't have the same warmth factor, but it will look just as cool styled with cozy boots and chunky knits.

Here are 5 alternatives I found online under $100 to get you started:

1. Navy Parka, $48.23

2. Lined Parka, $50

3. Emily Parka, $80

4. Parka with Hood, $82.99

5. Navy Parka, $66.67
