Yesterday I made a quick trip to Target to pick up some fireplace hearth accessories and that Sally Hansen nail polish I posted about here (more on that to come). I also got two scarves and a pair of gloves for $5 total, but passed up the Anna Sheffield for Target jewelry currently on clearance. Recently Fashionista reported that Target has signed with Tucker by Gaby Basora for a collaboration we can expect to shop mid-summer. If you're curious to see what this New York-based designer's actual high-end collection looks like, head on over now to Gilt.com, where you will find her signature silk blouses and dresses marked down up to 60%.

Translating these silhouettes for mass production won't be difficult (it's not like Target doesn't already carry tons of billowy, patterned tops), but of course I'm concerned about the fabric quality. Target has done silk before (my Anna Sui for Target tunic is 100% silk) but it's very lightweight, sheer and somewhat scratchy. Nonetheless I'm happy to learn about an under-the-radar designer and I expect the prints will be tasteful. We shall see!
