Nine West Fall/Winter 2010 Interim Preview

Nine West Creative Director Fred Allard shows off two of his favorite styles from the Fall/Winter 2010 collection.

Last night I attended the Nine West Fall Winter 2010 preview party at The Palace Hotel in New York City, an opulent setting befitting the luxe-looking collection of shoes, handbags and jewelry curated by Creative Director Fred Allard. Fred and his team created an absolutely stunning display for all to admire (I felt like I was on the set of Gossip Girl or something), and I had the chance to ask him about the inspiration behind the looks: There was the "jewel box" collection that was all about ladylike opulence, rich details and ornamentation, played out in a sexy red and black color palette in fabrics like velvet, damask and lace.

Then, the military-inspired looks (yes, they'll be back for Fall), injected with edgy hardware on chic silhouettes like the ever-popular shoe-bootie or cage heel. Lots of buckles, subdued camo and animal prints, too. Beyond that, a nod to the '80s with low ankle boots, zippers, studs and ruched leather. And in between, everything from blush pink ballet flats to khaki utilitarian boots trimmed with fur. Phew! What I love most about Nine West is their ability to give women exciting, runway-inspired looks at an absolutely affordable price point. Sandal season isn't even in full swing, but I can't wait to shop these looks come fall! Check out all my photos after the jump…which do you love?

I love the lace beading on the back of the red heel. It looks so much better than years before!
