Yea or Nay: Hayden-Harnett for Target Collection

Hayden Harnett for Target

Not too long ago, we brought you a first look at the Hayden-Harnett for Target accessory collection. Now that's it's been in stores for a couple weeks and you've had a chance to see the goods in person, what do you think? My Target didn't actually have the collection in stock, ahem, on December 28th when the line was supposed to launch! So annoying. Apparently shipments were delayed at many Target locations nationwide.

Hayden Harnett for Target

So anyways, I saw the collection this past week during a routine visit, and I thought it looked pretty good. Overall, I think they did a good job: The bags had vibrantly hued linings, lots of pockets, decent structure, and overall looked more costly than their pricetags which is half the battle with these cheaper lines.

I was encumbered by a 24-pack of toilet paper and was trying to get home before a snowstorm, so I hurried off without buying anything, but I'm thinking of ordering the brown double-flap handbag online. Has anyone purchased anything from the Hayden-Harnett for Target collection? What do you think of the quality/design/prices?

You know, I will say that I like them. But I don't LOVE them. Which leaves me a bit perplexed. Because once they are gone, they are gone. To buy or not to buy? I bought a Rafe for Target YEARS ago in brown patent and I STILL get tons of comments when I wear it out. hmmmmm.

I really liked this collection, particularly the flight bag with the vibrant yellow-purple print and the brown clutch. However, since I have waaay too many bags I can't really justify getting either right now. :o(

But if any of the clutch bags are left when this collection goes on sale I'm definitely getting one! I love the studs detail on them.

I actually bought the brown double flap bag online since it wasn't appearing in the stores when it was supposed to. I love the purse. It's a nicer quality than some of the other lines in my opinion, and it doesn't say "for Target" anywhere on the bag, so I like that, too. What I love most about the purse is that it isn't that big, but holds a lot!

I haven't purchased anything from the Hayden-Harnett for Target collection, nor have I even seen anything from the line in person! The Target in our new neighborhood is a SuperTarget, and I must say I like it a lot less than a regular ol' Tar-jay! The selection is not nearly as extensive and the shopping experience just isn't the same. Although I do like the brown double-flap bag, and it's the only bag I might consider purchasing, I'm just not sure this line has a timeless enough style for me to consider a purchase. I try to make sure that even my less expensive purchases have staying power and I'm not convinced with this line. Regardless, I'd like to know what those who have seen it or bought something from the line think - Maybe I'll try to go find the section and SuperTarget and change my mind!

I bought the black hobo bag last week, and I love it! I admit the shoulder strap hurts after wearing it too long but overall it's great (plus it has hand straps). I was actually going to do a review on it soon.

I've been meaning to check the line out since you first noted it's launch, but haven't made it out to Target lately. Thanks for the review - hopefully, my Target will have a good selection :-)

I still want to check out this line, but right around the time it was launching, Hayden Harnett was having some crazy sales on their own site, so I broke down and bought a heavily discounted bag from there.

Thanks for this post - I was wondering what the line looked like. If I had a target near me, I might snap up the brown clutch as it really doesn't look "cheap" as other lines do.

I bought the leaf print hobo bag and I really like it-- it's roomy with lots of pockets to and is overall reminiscent of Anthropologie's Lilyleaf Satchel (which sells for over twice the price, by the way). I love that this collection has fabric options in case you're put off by certain qualities of faux leather, though I have to admit that the pleather on this line is not nearly as fake-y as on some of their other reason bag collabs. Just keep in mind if you're ordering the hobo or flight bags online that they are a bit on the ginormous side.

I am a huge Target fan-but I have to say...Target disappoints in the accessesory department. What you find in the stores looks very different to me than what appears in the ads. The folks behind Lucky will be making Mossimo accessories going forward so I'm hoping that makes a difference.

I saw the collection here and had my eye on the black hobo bag.. however, it took about 5 trips to my local Target before I actually found it in stock. Got it, loved it for the first two days... nicest fake leather I've seen or felt, lots of pockets, and that lining is gorgeous! However, after those first two days, snap! The shoulder strap broke at the seam. It looks like its one big strap that comes up from the bottom, but it's actually two pieces, the top shoulder part simply sewed in, lacking bolts (or whatever they're called) like the rest of the strap. I was extremely bummed out, and was out of town and it was the only bag I had with me. I'm back now and going to return it. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm not sure if I should just return it or exchange for a fresh one.. if they have any more...
