While standing in the slow-moving checkout line at the grocery store the other day, I happened to read in a reliable tabloid source that trends in fashion are lasting longer these days because the price of luxury goods keeps climbing. Fashionistas who throw down $300 for a jewel-encrusted clutch, for example, sure as heck want to carry that bling for more than two weeks - and can you blame them?

While I'm not sure I buy this theory completely, it may explain why things like rhinestones, sequins and other shiny embellishments are still going strong in fashion at just about every price point.

According to the Hair Part Theory, where you part your hair may play a dramatic role in how other people perceive you - and these effects over the long term can change your personality:

Ok, so it's more quack science than rocket, but it's still kinda fun to think about (like horoscopes). Besides, changing your part is just about the cheapest way to make-over your look, and with Spring just around the corner, we're starting to think we could use a new 'do.
