Off the Rack: Stylish Pillows Under $20 at Walmart

Chic pillows at Walmart Under $20

I popped into Walmart over the holiday weekend for some random necessities and noticed they've got a few really cute decorative pillows, including some off-white flokati style pillows for $15.97 each, chic chevron for $9.97, faux cowhide for $13.97 and gold fretwork (Moroccan trellis) for $9.97. Honestly, you could toss any of these pillows onto a chair or sofa in a stylishly decorated home and you'd never guess they came from Walmart. I was in a hurry on this trip so I didn't buy any but I'm planning on going back for a couple, the tough part will be deciding which ones to get. With a baby and a big dog, I can't risk spending more than $20 (at most!) for a pillow, so these will be perfect for my home.

Off the Rack: LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl's Mid May Highlights

Cute spring clothes at Kohl's

In addition to the cute shoes, I also snapped some photos of my favorite new spring pieces from the LC Lauren Conrad collection at Kohl's, which is having a big sale right now (when are they not having a sale?!) I spotted this denim vest and knew I had to have it, since it's such a versatile layering piece for spring/summer. See how cute Kristin Cavallari looks with a denim vest and white shorts (HERE), or Jessica Alba with a denim vest layered over a maxi dress (HERE)? I also couldn't resist buying this skirt with the prettiest beachy sailboat print that looked like something you'd find in an Anthropologie catalog on a French looking model riding a bike or something equally romantic. I wanted the white jeans, too, but um, not such a good idea with an 11-month-old. If you're looking for cute denim shorts, or a lovely dress for a special occasion, LC has you covered.

Off the Rack: Mid May Shoe Highlights at Kohl's

Cute spring shoes at Kohl's

Kohl's is having a sale right now where you get 10%, 15% or 30% off with your Kohl's charge, plus $10 Kohl's Cash for every $50 spent (with or without Kohl's charge), so I stopped by my local store yesterday to scope things out. In the shoe department, I found a couple cute spring styles worth checking out, like these Apt. 9 slingback sandals featuring an on-trend block heel and neutral colorblocking. Simply Vera Vera Wang has a couple styles that fit the sporty/comfort shoe trend look that people are either loving or hating for spring, like this embellished style.

For cute and cheap espadrilles (a style you don't really want to spend a lot on anyways because they get dirty so quickly), check out this pair by So. And Candie's has you covered with everyday gladiators like this pair that will go great with skirts and rompers.

Finally, you can also get Birkenstock knockoffs by Mudd (here) or Sonoma (here), but as I mentioned on Instagram, I won't be partaking in this trend this time around.

Dollar Bin Diaries: Early May Highlights at Target

Goodies in the Target dollar bin aisle

Oh, Target, I can't seem to walk in your doors without a quick stop in the dollar aisle! And now that I have a little tot, I have a feeling I'll be spending way more time and money in your hallowed bins. Today I picked up a sand bucket and shovel, squishy caterpillar toy and a bubble gun for my little man, who just recently started WALKING (gasp) and who naps Benjamin-Franklin style in brief 15-20 minute spurts (which is why you may notice a lull in my blog posts from time-to-time). Anyways, you guys told me the dollar bins were great for moms, and I can already see it becoming our go-to spot for craft supplies and rainy day toys and so much more! Aside from kiddie stuff, I bought some gingham paper plates and white storage bins. I also spotted some lovely new stationary, herb growing kits, glitter tubes, and outdoor entertaining gear. Off the Rack: May Sandal Highlights at Marshalls

Cute sandals at Marshalls

I always wait until the last minute to do my summer shopping because I can't get in the mood for sandals and shorts until the weather is actually warm and the sun is shining, and well, that time arrived this past Friday - so I headed to the Marshalls Shoe Mega Shop with the single-minded goal of purchasing comfortable sandals for everyday wear. On first glance, I didn't see anything appealing, but upon closer inspection, I started to see some good stuff...Michael Kors, Coach, Sam Edelman, Dolce Vita, Vince Camuto, Steve Madden. Great brands, even better prices. I didn't have much time to shop so I honed in on a pair of brown leather DV by Dolce Vita gladiator flats and scooped them up for $34.99. They're already proving to be so comfy and go with just about everything. Love. I would have bought some gold oxfords by Sam Edelman ($39.99) and nude leather ballet flats by Lucky Brand (only $30) but they didn't have my size. Good or bad, depending on how you look at it!
