Off the Rack: What to Buy at Payless for Spring

I popped into Payless yesterday to exchange some shoes I had purchased online only to discover dozens more pairs I want for spring. It happens! As I browsed the racks, I found myself imagining different shoes on different fashion bloggers...Sydne loves yellow so I could see her rocking these 'Gianna' D'Orsay flats (or these yellow strappy heels), while Grace from The Stripe would make these block heels look like a million bucks. And I could see Alyson staying stylish on the go in these ikat print espadrilles. Am I the only one who does this...? I am? Alrighty then...

Off the Rack: Celebrate Summer in the Target Dollar Bins

Target dollar spot goodness
I'm still not sure where spring weather is hiding, but my Target dollar bins are stocked with everything you need to celebrate summer. Colorful accents are perfect for a Cinco de Mayo fete, while soft hues are perfect for a spring baby shower. There are also black and gold party supplies perfect for graduation parties that are just around the corner, and an end cap with gold heart and floral prints suitable for Mother's Day or anyday. And if you have kiddos, Target has everything for summer fun at the beach and beyond - towels, hats, bags, goggles, balls, buckets, you name it! On this trip I picked up a pink/white/gold polka dot coffee tumbler (how could I not), a shark cap and an anchor bucket hat for my toddler, and a bunch of other random stuff that added up to over $20. But really, where else can you find such cuteness for such little cash?

What have you bought in the Target dollar spot recently?

Off the Rack: What to Buy at Kohl's for Spring

LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl's spring styles are so cute
Earlier I shared the LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl's Spring 2016 lookbook, now you can see how some of these fashions look in real life. Plus, that Reed Krakoff collab I told you about is now available for pre-shop if you're a Kohl's Yes2You Rewards member (check your email, you should have received a link). I don't expect this collection to sell out anytime soon, though (over $100 for faux leather bags at Kohl's? I don't think so.) But back to spring fashions: in the juniors department, I found a cute anorak (Junior's Mudd Utility Jacket, $39.99) and cargo vest (Junior's Mudd Utility Vest, $32.99), both versatile layering pieces. Sonoma Goods for Life (what's with the new name?) also has a nice cargo jacket (Utility Twill Jacket, $34.99) and a gingham shirt (Sonoma Goods for Life Plaid Shirt, $19.99) worth checking out. From LC Lauren Conrad, it's all the florals and lace and girly dresses and blouses we've come to expect...but where else can you find these things on a budget? Here's a foolproof spring/summer outfit idea: Take any pretty top from Lauren's line (love this floral babydoll top, $26.40), add white jeans and anchor it with a cognac bag and sandals - the best you can afford - and you've got a gorgeous look that can take you anywhere (sorta like this). Rock & Republic also has camo shorts and pants, and nice denim jackets if you're looking. In the shoe department, I saw lots of shoes marked down to $24.99 for spring like white strappy heels, scalloped ballet flats and boat shoes.

Take a look at my photos and tell me what you're loving at Kohl's for spring!

Off the Rack: H&M 30% Off Coupon, Coachella Fashions & More

Spring fashion at H&M
There's a lot going on at H&M for spring, from festival fashions to a Louvre-inspired Conscious Collection to Earth Week perks. First, if you want to get your festival chic on, check out the H&M x Coachella collection filled with high-waist shorts, barely there tops, lots of fringe, crochet, and boho goodness. Then there's Earth Week - at my store, H&M is gearing up by encouraging shoppers to bring in their unwanted garments in any condition to be recycled, and in exchange you'll get a 30% off coupon good for one item. I was told you can get 2 coupons per visit but don't quote me on my facts, I was simultaneously dealing with a toddler/baby mutiny while chatting with the cashier. (In all fairness, it was lunchtime and they were really good sports up until that time.) This eco-friendly program isn't new - you may recall this embarrassing informative video I put together for H&M when they first launched garment recycling - but the deal is better now, up from 15% off to 30%. #yaaas

Off the Rack: What to Buy at Walmart for Spring

Walmart fashions for spring
This past weekend I stopped by Walmart to check out the latest spring fashions and snapped some photos of all the items I deemed worthy of sharing with you guys. I'm not going to pretend Walmart is a bastion of high fashion but with a discerning eye you can find some great pieces to add to your wardrobe on a really tight budget. I also realized while shopping that I was unintentionally wearing a Walmart t-shirt, jeans and boots that day, so clearly they're doing something right. I've had really good luck with their Faded Glory basics (long and short sleeve tees), their denim (Signature by Levi Strauss & Co. line is amazing - I learned about them prior to doing a sponsored post a while back and they remain my favorite jeans - and they're under $20!) and the Chelsea rain boots ($9.88) I picked up this past fall. My favorite plaid shirt is also from Walmart (and it's only $9! might have to pick up another color). The two knit cardigans I bought this past fall from Walmart were a big miss for me, but I think it's the color and style that didn't work for me. I was going for that oversized duster look and just ended up looking frumpy. And I couldn't get the olive cardigan to match anything in my wardrobe. Anyways, moving on to spring...
