The Banana Republic "Mad Men" collection is now available in stores and online, and earlier this week I attended a press event at the company's Fifth Avenue store to celebrate the launch. Guests were treated to mini makeovers of bright red lips, wingtip liner and retro up-dos. Then, we got to play dress up. That's my look above, channeling Betty Draper - gin Gimlet, anyone? I had a "moment" when Janie Bryant (@JanieBryant), costume designer for the award-winning show, retweeted one of my tweets. Giddy!
The Banana Republic social media mavens also had the coolest set-up whereby anyone who Instagrammed a photo from the event with the tag #BRMadmen would get their image instantly printed on a tiny Poloraid-esque print. Too cool souvenir. I was also treated to another fab souvenir, namely, I got to take home any one item from the collection, so I opted for the lightweight leopard trench which will be a great way to inject some Mad Men style into my fall wardrobe. It was totally worth waking up at the crack of dawn and training it into the city for this memorable morning.

I really love the pieces in this collection. Unfortunately, the ones I love the most are the menswear. XD I'm not a dress person, but I could go for the 60's inspired trench and pants.
I have to admit that I am OBSESSED with the show Mad Men and the fact that they're coming out with a clothing line is genius! They have a following that is crazy and this event looks like so much fun! I can't wait to check out the clothes!
