Spring Fashion Trends 2008: Romantic Ruffles

Girly girls will fall head-over-heels for Spring's romantic ruffle trend. Darling Giles presents them in their frilliest, most swoon-worthy feminine form. But lest you pass out from all the pastel, remember that opposites attract, and an edgy element such as a distressed moto jacket, black leather belt or tailored blazer will go a long way as you court this look. Because it's all about contrasts - hard and soft, sheer and solid, dark and light - just like real-life love affairs.

Love this style on other people. My friend got a silk tunic from christa-taylor.com that is adorable. Do you think this style looks better on taller people as a general rule or does it matter?

Love your blog, by the way. I read it every day.

I think it's not so much your height as the ruffle placement that matters. Keep it balanced: for example, if you're top heavy, keep your ruffles towards the lower half of your body - and vice versa.

Also, make sure your ruffles are proportionate to your frame/height. Smaller ruffles will look better on shorter gals (big ruffles could swallow you alive!)

Thanks for reading!! :-)
