It’s that time of year where we are all craving a little Vitamin D. Spring is here and summer is just around the corner, and we’re all dying to swap out our winter wear for shorts, tanks, and sandals. I was lucky enough to get a little taste of warm weather in Southern California over my Spring Break. This gave me the perfect opportunity to try out the new 'Cutting Edge - Wild Ride' sandals I received from Skechers! Wedge sandals aren’t too favorable in my usual Oregon weather, nor are they the best for walking around campus all day. So I eagerly packed them in my suitcase, and I already knew exactly the occasion where they would make their debut—my birthday dinner out with family!
The 'Cutting Edge - Wild Ride' sandals feature a cork print design with a single band lower strap and an adjustable ankle strap. My one concern with strappy sandals is always whether or not they will be snug enough to secure my feet but not constrict them either—fortunately these had the happy medium! Initially when I opened the box, I was also worried about the 4-inch heel (if you read my review of the Skechers Lonestar Boot, you know that I’m not big on heels!) BUT I am delighted to report that I was walking comfortably and with ease, no sign of pain on my face all evening! In the past I have owned or worn wedges that were too clunky and heavy, but with these I didn’t feel like I was dragging at all. I may have even fooled everyone into believing that I wear heels all the time.
For my evening out, I paired them with a purple floral dress from Urban Outfitters and a white faux leather moto jacket from Forever 21. I loved that I could wear these dressed up, but they definitely have the look for a more casual setting as well. I was one tall and proud birthday girl!
Once again, I am impressed with Skechers shoes and am looking forward to another opportunity to wear these wedges. Sun, please come out again—and stay for a while!
