Confession: I shop for workout clothes as often as I do regular clothes! Fitness is a passion of mine next to fashion and writing for you Budget Babes. So when Fabletics asked us to review some of their pieces, you know I jumped on that offer as fast as I climb the stepmill at the gym! Who doesn’t want cute gym wear?
For those who have never ordered from Fabletics (or sister-site JustFab), it works like this: Fabletics will mail you an outfit of your choice on the 1st of every month for $50, however; you also have the option of opting out on any given month, as long as you do so by the 5th.

Sydney Capri in Heather Grey Tao Print/Black (VIP $32, Regular $40)
These capris were my favorite piece from the haul! Fun prints are as huge in fitness fashion now as they are in everyday wear. The thick material wicks away moisture instead of absorbing thanks to the polyester/spandex combination—this isn’t thin, cheap cotton! A deal-breaker for me when I am buying workout capris is slippage. Nothing drives me crazier than a pair of spandex that I have to pull up constantly during my workouts because of poor fit or construction. The Fabletics pair thankfully stayed right in place, and I appreciated the slightly higher waist eliminating that dreaded muffin top! My capris are a size small.
Hawthorne Tank (VIP $27, Regular $35)
If you prefer fitted tanks when you exercise, the Hawthorne is for you! The color-blocking trend has also made its way onto fitness duds, and the black and plum combo here exhibits the essence of fall. Added features like the black piping in the front and crossback help separate the Hawthorne from other tops as well. Be aware it does have a built-in bra, which I know some ladies are not fans of. If you have a larger bust, you may have to wear another bra underneath for more support. As shown in the picture, the tank runs a bit long and covers the top part of my bum. This extra length sort of got annoying when I was working out. (The tank is a size small and I am 5'8''.) But again, this is another aspect that comes down to personal preference! I would love to see this top in more colors in the future.
Davis Jacket (VIP $40, Regular $50)
I was pretty disappointed in this jacket. I ordered a size small, worried that it might even be TOO small, it turned out not to be as fitted as pictured. The bottom flared out too much for my taste and was a shorter length than expected, just barely hitting my hips. Sadly I do not think this is something a smaller size would fix.
Some of you might not be bothered by this though, in which case you will appreciate its upsides: soft but durable material, the angled zipper as a cute and distinctive design element, and slightly longer sleeves with thumbholes to keep your hands warm! I will surely use it as a layer piece under bigger jackets or for running outside on those chilly fall mornings.
Overall, my Fabletics haul is a positive addition to my gym clothing collection. As someone who wears workout clothes daily, I have found that it is almost impossible to expect perfection in every piece because everyone has different standards for comfort when choosing workout clothes. I am considering becoming a VIP member myself because these items are high quality and I am definitely interested in more tops and capris or leggings. You avid gym-goers will value the frequent deliveries of fun, fashionable, and fairly-priced workout attire!
