Ever wish your home could look like the pretty pictures you see in magazines (or on Pinterest)? In this weekly column, I'm sharing budget-friendly ideas to help you recreate luxe looking spaces for less. Visit my blog A Vintage Splendor for more inspiration.
My design or décor aesthetic is definitely mid-century modern meets vintage clutter, but I’m always drawn to traditional homes that are simply glamorous: modest use of color and statement pieces. What initially drew me to this space is the non-traditional shape of the sofa. I promise that I scoured the web for a good 2 hours to try and find something similar, but this beauty seems to be one-of-a-kind.
The sofa is definitely a bold statement piece but the ivory upholstery and tufted back give it that classic and sophisticated look of the traditional room. The berry accents are enough to give this room a bit of flavor without an overuse of colors or patterns. The vintage-esque accents add enough of a personal touch that the space feels lived in and not stark.
Overall, the ivory and berry duo creates a calming space that is understatedly glamorous. While I wouldn’t call this a home in real life, it’s definitely one of those lust worthy pinned spaces I’ll visit often.
