We Review: The Skechers High Rise Riding Boot

Skechers riding boots review
Skechers has pleasantly surprised us in the past with their footwear - from their memory foam trainers to the cutest ballet flats - so when we saw their latest boot offerings for fall, we knew we had to try them! For this review, I selected the High Rise Riding Boot in brown leather (also comes in black, $129 at skechers.com). Read on for the 411 on these fall must-haves...

Skechers riding boots review

While it's not quite cool enough for tall boots where I live, I put the High Rise to the test for a solid week of morning walks when temperatures are coolest. If you look carefully at the photo above, you'll see my son zooming away on his bike...while my husband tries to snap my photo and I try to do my best fashion blogger pose (how am I doing?! LOL)

I can honestly say it was love at first step with these boots. I ordered the size 10 (which is apparently my new shoe size now that baby 2 is on the way) and the fit was great with a little wiggle room for the thicker wool-blend socks I wear all winter long. The boots feature a leather upper, elastic panels for comfort, zip on styling, cushioned insole and rubber traction outsole. They feel very solid and durable yet they aren't overly bulky or heavy.

I need boots that I can really move around in - whether I'm chasing my toddler or walking my dog (often both simultaneously) - and these fit all my criteria. It's like wearing a sneaker (think support, comfort) with the look of a classic riding boot. And you can't really get a better look than the riding boot for fall and winter. These boots will go with everything, and can work with casual or dressed-up casual looks.

My only complaint is that the High Rise appears more cognac brown on the website but in real life they're more of a true brown as you can see from my photos. It depends on the lighting, but I wish they had a bit more warmth to the leather color.

Shop the Skechers High Rise at skechers.com. Thanks to Skechers for gifting us these boots for the purpose of this review!

Very cute! I think I need these!! I bought a pair of Frye pull on boots a couple months ago.. however I failed to realize the problem with bending over to pull on the boots with a 30 week baby belly. Whoops!!

Oh did you get those during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale? Can't go wrong with Frye! But I know what you mean...just putting on socks has become a trial LOL. Slip-on shoes are best with our bellies!
