Beauty Review: Christopher Drummond Beauty

With the recent launch of some new products to the Christopher Drummond Beauty makeup collection—an innovative line created by former model and professional makeup artist Christopher Drummond—the company sent me free sample sizes of a few of their products to test and review. This line prides itself on being "100% natural, vegan, made with organic ingredients." I like it because it's great makeup.

The newest product to become a part of the Christopher Drummond line is the (2) Revitalizing Facial Serum ($55), which contains the "breakthrough" organic ingredient DMAE along with carrot extract, meadow foam extract, aloe, sugar cane and vitamins. This product certainly seems to have the ability to do it all! Firm, lift, tighten, hydrate, exfoliate and fight the effects of aging (whew!). Of course, only time will tell if this product can deliver on all its promises, but what I can say with certainty is that it feels great going on, absorbs into the skin nicely and leaves no greasy or sticky feeling in its wake. If I could afford to drop $55 on this stuff, I would, but I can't…so I won't.

The Fall/Winter Color Collection ($17.50-$28), which incorporates recent runway trends, is more within my budget. The cat eye/smoky eye look is all the rage for fall and winter this year (yay, my favorite!) and Christopher Drummond has three new eyeshadow colors that will aid you in creating your perfect sultry and sexy smokey look: Amethyst (purple), Mystique (blue/grey) and Feline (charcoal). I gotta say, all three are awesome colors, not garish or heavy, perfect for blending. I think they really show the company's knowledge of color mixing.

While I love my smoky eye, it's a bit much for everyday, which I why I love the eyeshadow in (1) Aymee ($17.50), which is a pearly pink/gold tone. So awesome for everyday, every skin tone and it just makes you look glowing, healthy and uber pretty. (My boyfriend actually noticed, which is, first of all, amazing because it's such a subtle shade, and is also noteworthy because, with the amount of makeup I try, he's known to be a little desensitized.) I'm a fan.

Finally, I got to try the (3) Saúde Pele Radiance Booster, part of the Gift Set for Women ($95). This product is also quite the multitasker, and has already developed a following of loyal users. I give it high marks as well, aside from the steep price (it's $85 for a full size bottle!). Illuminating powders usually annoy me (I don't want to look like I just got maced by Tinkerbelle) but Saúde Pele is different: You look glowy and, dare I say it, dewy without looking like you have makeup on. Not an easy feat.

While these luxe products perform well, they are a tad steep for everyday use (with the exception of the eye makeup). However, I wanted to share my experience with these products because many of you have expressed the need for quality organic, chemical-free, and/or vegan makeup—and you're willing to pay a tad more to get it. If that's the case, check out christopherdrummond.com. You won't be disappointed.
