Spring's Best Trench Coats and Jackets

Spring's Best Jackets on a Budget

Burberry took some liberties with their iconic trench on the Spring 2009 runways, featuring the classic coat in things like dip-dye fades and floral brocades. Off the runway, you can find an affordable beige trench or go for something a bit more bold—a bright color or even a bold print. Personally, I'm looking for a timeless trench because believe it or not, I've never owned one and I want to get it right—right cut, right fit, right price! Until then, I'll be wearing my H&M anorak from last season. I'm also considering buying the Merona Paddington Coat, which I've tried on in navy in stores. It's not as fitted as the product photo, but it definitely looks much more expensive than $34.99. Here are my favorite jackets and coats from the around the web, let me know what jackets you're wearing (or wanting) in the comments.

Picked up this one from Macy's the other day - with some discount they had going, I got it for less than $37. http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=362962&PseudoCat=se-xx-xx-xx.esn_results

I like the drawstring waist and the 3/4 sleeves. Its pretty cute for the price, I think.

And I have the Target Paddington coat on order; hasn't come in yet. I'm hopeful for that one!

I LOVE the look of 3/4 sleeves but find them impractical for the climate I live in -- seems like it's always either too cold or too hot for that style.

Let us know how the Paddington coat works out for you! :-)

I bought the Old Navy Belted Trench coat in Khaki and I absolutely adore it. It fits great!

I keep looking at the Target ones too! By the time I make a decision, it will be too hot to wear it :-)

I desperately want a new khaki trench! I think I'll check out Zara's to see if they have any.

I ended up going to Filene's Basement and finding a nice black Kenneth Cole trench on sale for $20! Had I known Zara was so expensive, I wouldn't have even gone in, and would have headed straight for FB.

Love the Tulle one ... but I'll admit that I'm hoping to unearth a vintage Burberry one of these days.

OH I love trench coats a lot! I have one for just about every season! Last year I picked up a tan one from a surf shop by BBDakota that looks almost exactly like the F21 one and the F21 is a lot cheaper. Love that gray...I think I might just order it!

I found trenches marked down to half price at my Target the other day. I couldn't resist a classic khaki mid thigh length swingy trench with a bright green polka dot lining for $19.99- but they had other colors and styles, too.

Oh I LOVE the color of the blue coat from Ruche! It doesn't look that bright blue in the pic but on the girl it does...hmmm..

i've been going into old navy every other week for weeks now hoping to find the khaki belted trench on sale. it hasn't, i refuse to pay full price, and this is torture.

i've had that trench in my online cart for months too! i already have a trench but i'm watching the price in case it gets ridiculously low b/c i like the back pleats. it's strange that it's never gone on sale b/c a different trench i bought at old navy early last year went on sale really quickly. have you tried getting a coupon from oldnavyweekly.com? you can usually get at least a 20% off coupon or a $10 off $50 coupon.
