Win Cool Stuff: Perricone MD Advanced Face Firming Activator

And the winner is… #44 Stephanie who wrote, "Even though I'm 26, I've been using SPF moisturizer since I was a kid, it really helps preventing age spots (I have natural freckles, even though I'm asian), in addition, when I'm older, I know that I'll be thankful that my mom instilled this habit at such a young age. While I know the sun can be bad, a nice glow every once in awhile (whether it's a quick walk at the beach or from a bottle), helps me feel younger and refreshed. But the 3 keys would have to be: SPF moisturizer, water, and a sleep!"

Congrats to our winner and thanks to everyone who participated! Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go put on some sunscreen and drink a big glass of water.

Yeah for contests!
#2 Janna on 2009-06-09 07:33
I feel like I'm still a kid, even though I'm 38! I spend time with my nieces and nephews just being silly. I have a grateful journal and I look for the positive. I also seem to naturally shy away from things that are bad for me. When everyone else was lying out on silver mats with baby oil frying in the sun, I was inside reading a good book. I don't like red meat, I love my fruits and veggies, and I love to run. I only discovered running in the past few years--finally, I LOVE exercise! It may seem impossible sometimes, but keep searching and trying new workouts and activities and you'll find something you love, too! I think exercise is truly the key to staying young!

Thanks so much for the giveaway :-) I love your blog!
#3 charleney_2k on 2009-06-09 07:38
Similar to the other commenters, I attempt to stay 'young' by exercising and good eating habits. Also, I go through a LOT of water during the day at work to keep myself hydrated!
#4 Alicia on 2009-06-09 07:47
I have definitely started to try and enjoy exercising so that I do it more often, taking hikes, bike riding, and fun classes.
#5 Lindsay on 2009-06-09 08:09

#8 Amanda on 2009-06-09 08:57
To keep my skin healthy I wear sunscreen everyday, whether I am just going to work or exercising outside on my bike! I also keep an aluminum water bottle at my desk that I try to refill three times a day.
#9 Kellie on 2009-06-09 09:01
I've had skin problems since I was a teen. I find that now that I am 28, the little things I did when I was younger (drinking lots of water, not drinking, not smoking, wearing sunscreen, etc...) have helped tremendously. It's best to treat your skin as you would treat anything else--with a little TLC. You will reap the benefits in the long run.
#10 Victoria on 2009-06-09 09:41

...lots of preventative botox.....JUST KIDDING!...lol....I figured I'd start with a different response than the rest ;-)

Sunscreen is a must, I also eat a lot of fish, I notice it makes a big difference with skin/hair - and I try to not booze it up too often...eventually I will quit :-)
#12 Sonu on 2009-06-09 10:05
Hi -

At 38, I'm just know seeing small signs of my age in my face. I have three kids and a demanding job that keeps me busy so I stick with the
basics when it comes to skincare. I wash and moisturize my face twice a day. I'm an African American and I grew up ignorant to the importance of sunscreen. I use it now on a daily basis and have stressed its importance to my children. I also drink lots of water. Chasing kids
keeps me young and laughing!

#17 lise on 2009-06-09 11:58
I'm trying to take care of my skin like never before, to slow down and reverse some of the damage already done. The damage is due to aging (oh, I am so old!) and not taking care of my skin in my youth or middle years, . . .. I wish I knew back then what I know now.
#18 DonnaG (Homepage) on 2009-06-09 12:02
I dance! Swing, waltz, whatever it is I probably do it. Makes you feel really alive. :-)
#19 Sandra on 2009-06-09 12:05

I drink about 5 liters of water each day and make sure to jog for at least an hour!
#21 James on 2009-06-09 12:41
To feel young (relatively), I make it a point to dress my age. I don't want to dress like a teenager, but try to avoid dressing to conservative or boring for my age also. The BB posts are a big help in this sense. so THX!!
#22 Claudia on 2009-06-09 13:09

My top two things are moisturizing and drinking lots of water. Hanging out with friends I've known since elementary school keeps me feeling young too :-)
#28 GC on 2009-06-09 14:21
I try to go to the gym and do yoga 3 times a week. I also make sure that I have time to go out with my girlfriends, we always laugh like little school girls when we're together!

I would love to try this product. I've heard so many good things about it. Even Oprah loves it!
#29 Vanessa on 2009-06-09 14:22

2) Stay out of the sun
3) Exercise
4) Strict skincare routine. Keep things simple and exfoliate.
#30 monica on 2009-06-09 14:23
Yeah, I agree with Monica. I think that a big part of looking young is our skin. Skincare is definitely the most important---elminating wrinkles and other blemishes!
#30.1 James Harrell on 2009-06-11 12:48
Besides drink lots of water and exercise, I use lots of sunscreen and exfoliate on a regular basis. I'm pretty sure my routine needs help...
#31 rayna on 2009-06-09 14:28

I drink aloe juice. Don't know if it's true, but I think it keeps the acne away and makes my skin look younger xP
#41 Julia on 2009-06-09 17:27
"Looking and feeling young" is a state of mind.

While I do the usual, use sunscreen, avoid alcohol/smoking, nothing makes me feel younger than acting young. You know, goofing around with my husband and eating chocolate cupcakes with sprinkles!
#42 Jade on 2009-06-09 17:53
I do nothing special. I eat what I want, dance when I want, and enjoy my life with laughter and sunshine.

Even at that, everyone thinks I am 40 years old (I am nearly 60!) When people ask why I look so young, I always say 'oh, I bathe in the blood of virgins, but they are getting SOOOO difficult to find these days!!" :-) Having a gorgeous husband about 14 years younger helps, too!!! ;-)7
#43 J. A. Masterman-Thomas on 2009-06-09 18:09

I think it's all about attitude - I like to have fun and I think that will keep me young for quite a long time. But certain steps I take certainly help: I wear lotion and makeup with SPF 15, jog an hour every morning, and eat lots of fruit (esp. blueberries) and veggies.

#69 Alexis on 2009-06-12 21:53
Drinking water is obviously a basic necessity to stay younger-looking but here's what can also really make a difference: practicing belly-dancing! Don't laugh! Belly-dancing gives you a gentle workout and opens the skin pores so they detoxify and breathe. Your face will glow and really does look younger after regular belly-dance sessions (practice 3x a week for 20-30 min.).
#70 Nan on 2009-06-12 22:55
