Off the Rack: Gap Summer Sale Plus New Fall Classics

Gap at ShopStyle

During a recent trip to my local Gap, I picked up a pair of Havaianas for Gap flip-flops in blue (click the pic above to shop online) on sale for $8.99, and the zipper-front Vena Cava for Gap dress that I've been wanting ever since the lookbook pics were first released on sale for $37.99. Score. Regarding the Havas, I get it. I finally get it! They really are the comfiest flip-flops I've ever worn. And at this price, you can't go wrong. If you can get to a Gap near you, definitely pop in to check out the summer deals and scope out the new transition-to-fall offerings too.

Havaianas for Gap on sale in store for $8.99 reg. $24. (note: They're $11.99 down from $18 at I confirmed, my Target flip-flops are a total knock-off of the Havas, down to the design on the strap and squishy-rubber feel, but whereas my Target flops are already wearing down, the Havas are going strong. It's like a slightly more rigid Memory Foam for your feet!

Finally got this Vena Cava for GAP dress for $37.99 (reg. $88). My nearest Gap store did not carry the CFDA Design Editions collection, so I asked the cashier how this single dress (in my size, no less) ended up on the sale rack and she said some girl bought it in the city, then returned it to my store in CT for whatever reason. Her loss, my gain!

Note the neatly organized and very extensive denim collection for men (women's was behind me and to my left).

The blazer on the right looked really nice, had the striped lining so you could roll the cuffs for that Alice + Olivia-blazer look we all loved on Lauren Conrad so much, but I wish the lapels would lay closer to the body rather than stick out. ($98)

Gotta love the Gap for their casual basics. And if you can't find Gap jeans that fit, you aren't looking!

SO glad you snapped up that Vena Cava. And, of course, it looks MARVELOUS on ya.

NOT TRUE re: Gap jeans that fit. I have tried on EVERY POSSIBLE COMBINATION and they just do not have on that fits me right. And I mean every. possible. combination.

Just because you have an easy-to-fit figure... *mutter, grumble*....

Any Gap folks out there wanna hook up Sandra? hehe. well, i can't fit into any old navy jeans. my butt doesn't fill them out and trust me, it ain't pretty or fun. grass is always greener, take comfort knowing that no matter what one's figure is like, we're all guaranteed to find fault it in, some way or another! that's why i read every day for my daily dose of self-love. seriously! :-)

LOVE love LOVE the Gap - Great score on the dress and flops. I just went today - the in store sales are WAY better then the online discount - I scored the cute purple/grey layered skirt $30 (plus my coupon made is $10) and a men's oxford size S for $11 - LOVE it - loads of cute stuff for the fall - looks like JCrew-esque to me. Regarding the jeans - they do have some good fits - but my favs are LUCKY for sure.

When I'm pressed for time, I don't usually shop at the Gap but each time I do I'm reminded of how neatly organized and tranquil that store can be! I could live in their serene dressing rooms...

Cute dress! I'm going for the dark skinny destroyed jeans they featured in September Lucky Mag!

Great buy with that Vena Cava dress! I've been looking for that exact dress since it went on the sale racks weeks ago, but unfortunately haven't been successful! However, stopped by the Gap in San Francisco on Powell yesterday and bought the Vena Cava short-sleeved dress (they had a bunch in size 0 and even an Alexander Wang long khaki jacket - not the popular motorcycle jacket however) for $11.99! Completely ridiculous! It was on sale for $19.99 and with the additional 40% sale items, the dress ended up being cheaper than 90% of the things in my closet!

Also, didn't have time to try their new denim but I'm looking forward to it. Heard from a few people how great their new fits are!
