Four Relaxed Crop Pants: Would You Wear One?

As in Spring seasons past, many designers such as Richard Chai sent loose-fitting, relaxed fit pants down the runways for 2009, and fashion chains everywhere are following this trend. As much as I love this look, especially with the rolled up cuffs and pale hues shown by Chai, I'm not sure I'm ready to shed my fitted jeans for fuller cuts. Voluminous pants...frighten me, as much as I adore the look on others and the smooth silky fabrics that lend themselves so well to this look. Reassure me that I have nothing to fear, and that you're ready to wear this style yourself—perhaps one of the four pairs above is calling your name?

The big day has finally arrived when fashionistas nationwide can shop the Alexander McQueen for Target collection online and at select stores (sadly, not carried at a store near me). I'm just dying to get my hands on the asymmetrical dress (above) but I am reluctant to spend $69.99 without trying it on. Are you guys going gagga? Let me know what you buy!

What Does Recession Style Mean to You?

Yesterday I was interviewed by a journalist at the University of Florida, who asked me to define "recession style." And it got me thinking: There are those who are new to the world of fashion on a budget, and then there are those of us who've been following a mantra of "fab without a fortune" for quite some time. Personally, I have never had the luxury of just buying whatever I felt like, whenever I felt like it. I have always been frugal out of necessity, but I think it's made me a stronger person and has taught me valuable lessons. Like, spend within your means. Save a little each day. Be grateful for what you have.

Ask BB: Is the Longchamp Le Pliage Bag Hot or Not?

What do you think of the Longchamp Le Pliage bag? It seems to be a really hot school bag. One day I saw five of them just on one stairway. As I paid more attention, I realized they are everywhere. Do you think this item is really worth the price, and can you recommend some cheaper alternatives for a school bag? Thanks, Daniela

While my school days are behind me, I happen to live in an East Coast college town, and lo and behold, the other day while driving through the center of the city, I spotted a stylish co-ed carrying a black Le Pliage large tote with tan leather trim and long handles. I nearly crashed in my attempt to get a better look at said handbag as the student slipped through a wrought-iron gate and disappeared onto the quads.
