Versace for H&M

Versace for H&M

Earlier today it was announced that Versace will team up with H&M for a limited-edition 'Iconic Collection' of women's and men's fashion as well as homeware due out in fall 2011.

Vogue UK has a sneak peek at some of the looks, including a cream shift dress with gold studded embellishment, a leather jacket featuring studded embellishment, a slinky black halter dress, a brightly-colored belted floral dress and a men's black suit and metallic top.

While I'm not a Versace girl per se, I do have a soft spot in my heart for Donatella (I really admire what she's done since her brother's passing) - and I'm kinda loving all the looks I've seen so far.

Versace for H&M will go on sale on November 17 followed by a pre-spring collection that will be available online from January 19.

Fashion for A Cause: Rachel Roy Japan Tote

Designer Rachel Roy believes that Kindness is Always Fashionable and this time, she has designed a limited edition Japan Tote to help raise funds for victims of the tsunami. 100% of the net profits from the sale of this tote will benefit GlobalGiving's relief fund which provides long-term relief and aid for the affected people.

There are a couple easy ways to contribute:

  • Buy the tote for $25. (That's the beautiful Rachel Roy carrying hers above.)

  • Comment on the Rachel Roy Facebook page today, Tuesday June 21. For every comment, Rachel Roy will donate $1 to GlobalGiving.org.

  • Rachel is also hosting a Tweetstakes in partnership with @FASHI0NDELIVERS on her Twitter channel, @Rachel_Roy. For every Re-tweet of the original tweet, Rachel Roy will donate an additional $1 as well.

I love Rachel Roy, I had the pleasure of meeting her once at the press launch for her affordable line Rachel Rachel Roy (sold exclusively at Macy's) and she was so genuine and kind in person. Not to mention drop-dead gorgeous! Love that she does these charitable campaigns that make it easy for all of us fashion lovers to give back.

Off the Rack: Payless June Offerings, Plus The Good Shoe Project

It's BOGO time once again at Payless, so I stopped by one of the stores in my area to see if I could find anything worth getting. Selection varies greatly from store to store, but I did see some cute sandals, including red and white polka-dot espadrilles, some basic white peep-toe wedges and some simple yet chic metallic strappy flat sandals, which look incredibly comfortable and perfect for pairing with shorts or summer dresses.

I also noticed Payless has launched something called The Good Shoe Project: When you buy a pair of Payless "Hope" shoes (a simple canvas slip-on, $19.99), Payless will donate a pair of shoes to a child in need. Of course Payless is piggybacking off of TOMS shoes but it seems like Payless might be able to reach a different demographic with their campaign, and it's all for a good cause after all. The fact that the Payless slip-ons look like TOMS doesn't bother me as the TOMS design is based on age-old footwear styles worn by countless cultures around the globe, so it's nothing original.
