BCBG Max Azria Spring 2013

With Fall on the horizon, we're already craving leather and winter whites, but after BCBG Max Azria's Spring 2013 show, I'm thinking we should just skip fall and winter all together and fast forward to Spring. There, we can take advantage of the leather and lace inspired collection with bondage-like cut outs on ladylike silhouettes. Bringing edge to otherwise feminine sheaths, BCBG incorporated colorful prints, leather and lace detailing, making his collection one of my more lusted after collections for Spring 2013. It might just be in your best interest to hold on to those leather shorts, peach and lace, because it's going to be huge for spring. —The Budget Babe Correspondent, Megan Zietz

Tadashi Shoji Spring 2013 Runway Show

Tadashi Shoji showed us that lace isn't going anywhere with his colorful, delicate frocks in varying silhouettes from baby dolls to full on evening gowns, and even pajama-inspired pants. Tadashi absolutely captured the Modern Silk Road, where an East-meets-West theme played out with the use of Venetian cutwork and embroidered lace, making it easy to see myself wearing all of the pieces - and not just for evening wear. I was especially impressed with his attention to detail on each dress, and his choice to make the lace look "younger" by opting for strategically placed sheer fabric. So don't toss those lace and sheer pieces just yet ladies, it's sticking around for Spring 2013. —by The Budget Babe Correspondent, Megan Zietz

Kate Spade Spring 2013 Nail Looks by Deborah Lippmann

This morning, I headed to the city bright and early to kick off my first day of New York Fashion Week with a visit backstage at the Kate Spade Spring 2013 collection presentation. There, I caught up with nail guru Deborah Lippmann to talk nails. This was my first time meeting Deborah (she's great, as you'd expect) and I was dying to find out what she would create this season. The burning question on everyone's mind (okay maybe just mine): Could she top the polka-dot nails presented at Kate Spade's Fall show? Well, suffice to say, it's hard to pick a favorite - but Deborah and her team definitely upped the ante with a bold gingham print that made everyone smile, even the models!

Now that Spring 2013 Fashion Week has kicked off without a hitch, it's the perfect time to start scouting next season's beauty trends, and since I got to catch up with Deborah Lippmann backstage at Honor's SS13 show I officially got geared up to to talk about all things nails.

Sneak Peek: Tracy Reese Spring 2013

As we bid farewell to summer's tank tops, shorts and sandals, designers are already deciding what we'll be dying to wear next spring. I've asked Tracy Reese what she'll be sending down the runway in just a few short days at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City. Here's what to expect:

"For Spring 2013, Reese combines a variety of textures, patterns and details for an effortless collection of versatile silhouettes. Inspired by the rich range of hues found in David Hockney landscapes, Reese's palette focuses on foliage-inspired greens, complimented by cool blues, lilacs, tangerines and neutrals.

'I played with the juxtaposition of organic and technical, soft and structured and sporty and feminine for an unexpected and refreshing collection,' said Reese. 'A quilted silk jacket in pert layered over a black burnout gauze shirt and a mentholescence stretch linen trouser, and paired with fringed sandal and clutch, creates an effortless look that is sophisticated yet relaxed.'"
