Off the Rack: Kmart Random Goodness

Kmart fashions in store now

I don't often get around to shopping at Kmart since I live a good 35 minutes drive from the nearest location, but I happened to pop in this past weekend to check things out. My first thought was that I'm not missing much - the Nicki Minaj collection, with its bodycon silhouettes and wild prints, isn't exactly my style. But then I spotted some stylish options from Attention, Route 66 and Sofia Vergara that made me reconsider. This geometric print blouse by Attention was positively darling and looked more expensive than it's $14.99 pricetag. A swallow print blouse by Jaclyn Smith ($17.99) looked like a budget descendant from Miu Miu's spring 2010 runway. And two casual pullovers with crochet detailing from Route 66 were just as cute as similar tops that run twice as much elsewhere (scroll down for pics). It's not enough to make me drive out to Kmart but I will be checking Kmart.com more often.

Do any of you shop regularly at Kmart or Kmart.com for clothes?

Off the Rack: February Shoe Highlights at Target

New shoes at Target

Didn't love the Peter Pilotto collection? Don't worry, there are tons of other ways to spend your hard-earned dollars at Target right now, starting with everyone's favorite: Shoes! I'm on a self-imposed shoe shopping ban (my teeny tiny 1930s closet runneth over), but if I wasn't, I'd scoop up these Kami ankle boots in a unique, subtle shade of green ($28) and the Keagen ankle boot with on-trend cut-outs ($28), plus these Shelly perforated boots with cool buckle detailing ($28). But like I said, no more shoes for me until I make room for new additions.

Off the Rack: BB Reviews Peter Pilotto for Target

The Budget Babe reviews Peter Pilotto for Target

It's been a while since I reviewed a Target collaboration in person on account of me being pregnant, then too busy with a newborn to spend time galavanting in a dressing room like a teenager snapping selfies, but today I was up to my old tricks - and it felt good. Trying on the Peter Pilotto for Target collection in person reminded me why I love these lines - no matter where you live, if you live near a Target, you can pretend for just a few moments that you're somewhere more fashionable, somewhere where crazy prints are appreciated and boxy silhouettes are applauded. Sure, other shoppers may shake their heads in disapproval and walk by the racks without so much as a second glance, but you? You stop to take it all in because you love fashion and Target knows it.
