The Look for Less: J.Crew Camo Shirt and Cargo Jacket

J.Crew look-a-likes at Old Navy

Part of my Sunday routine includes strolling around downtown to check out the cute boutiques and my local J.Crew (I live in a college town). So while it's not budget-friendly, I love checking out the trends and scouring the sales racks (which are surprisingly good, possibly because it's a college town!) This past Sunday I spotted a camo shirt and cargo jacket and was instantly reminded of a camo shirt and cargo jacket I saw just a week ago at Old Navy...

T.J.Maxx/Marshalls Gave Us $200 to Shop for Fall Accessories. Plus, A Reader Giveaway!

Transition your look from summer to fall

Fall is almost here, which means we'll soon be swapping out our flip-flops and sundresses for boots and cozy sweaters. To make the transition a bit smoother, our friends at T.J.Maxx and Marshalls gave us $200 and challenged us to show how standout accessories can transform a summer look into a fall-worthy ensemble. TBB intern-turned-contributor Allyssa Griffiths was more than happy to take on this challenge and put her shopping skills to the test, scoring a lust-worthy designer leather handbag in navy with gold hardware, plus a colorful statement necklace for just $20. To see details on her complete look, and to find out how you can win a $50 T.J.Maxx/Marshalls giftcard, click on over to her blog, Life with Lyss!

The End of an Era: Juicy Couture to be Sold Exclusively at...Kohl's?! (Here's the Fall 2014 Look Book)

Juicy Couture gets a re-brand and a new home exclusively at Kohl's / coming September 2014

Did I just blow your mind? It's hard to believe that Juicy Couture, the once glamorous LA-brand created by Pamela Skaist-Levy and Gela Nash-Taylor in 1997, would find itself at a budget retailer in 2014. And yet, this story says so much about the state of the fashion industry today. Brands that start out as cool, original, and presumably unique design expressions get bought and sold and licensed until they're really only a glimmer of their former selves - except for behemoth sales figures.

The Look for Less: Repetto Ballet Flats

Repetto's classic 'Cendrillon' ballet flats are $300 at MADISONLOSANGELES.COM. Olivia Palermo is one of many celeb fans of this brand, which was started in 1956 by Rose Repetto in Paris. The brand is known for its longstanding tradition of quality leather shoes inspired by demi-pointe dancing shoes.

Get the look for less with Target's 'Madeline' ballet flat, available in six colors for $16.98–19.99 at Target stores and TARGET.COM. Of course the quality isn't nearly the same but the look is very similar, with an almond toe, slightly higher vamp and similar style bow. I tried the tan today in store and it was comfortable, with a hint of padding for support.
