Thanksgiving Decor Under $50

Thanksgiving decor

In this weekly post, I'm sharing chic decor tips and finds on a budget. This week, we're gearing up for the Thanksgiving holiday. Visit my blog A Vintage Splendor for more inspiration!

Seasonal decor can be a little on cheesy side if you’re not careful. Some even reminds me of the seasonal, felted sweaters my high school history teacher wore. Since then, I’m always on the lookout for decor that is holiday appropriate, but doesn’t venture into ugly holiday sweater territory.

Decorate by Number: Simple and Modern Bedroom

Simple and modern bedroom

In this weekly column, I'm sharing tips to help you achieve high-style home decor looks—on a budget. This week we're chatting bedrooms. Visit my blog A Vintage Splendor for more inspiration.

When you think of a warm, cozy, and inviting bedroom, pillows galore, faux fur throws, and neutral yet cheery hues come to mind. If all that fluff isn’t your thing, you can still achieve the same level of comfort in a bedroom on the other end of the spectrum. Rest assured, cool tones and modern pieces can be comfortable and create a space you’ll want to laze away in. Just like some people are chocolate ice cream lovers and others vanilla (I’m all about strawberry ice cream), there are different versions of comfort and everyone is right. It’s really about identifying what relaxes and calms you as opposed to what most people connote with comfort.

TOMS for Target is Almost Here! See Photos from the LA Launch Party

In case you forgot, TOMS for Target launches this weekend on November 16th, and to celebrate, Target hosted a celebrity-packed party in Los Angeles this past week. These photos give us a good glimpse at the products and some ways to wear the fashions (love Ali's poncho!). Some background: Target has partnered with TOMS on a limited-edition collection of home goods, apparel, accessories and shoes for women, men and children. Similar to TOMS’ One for One® giving model, for each item purchased, a donation will be made, with the potential to provide more than 11 million meals, blankets and shoes to those in need. Consisting of more than 50 items, each under $50, the collection will be available at all Target stores in the U.S. and Canada and on Target.com beginning Nov. 16. I'll definitely be checking this out as I think it's a great place to start shopping for holiday gifts!

Here's a holiday wardrobe workhorse that you'll want in your repertoire: The leather circle skirt. Kate Spade's is probably buttery leather that will only get better with time, but it carries a $598 pricetag. The faux version is just $69 at the same retailer. See if you can spot the real from the steal by clicking either image below!
