Never played with Polyvore before but now I think I'm hooked! Having a low key New Years Night party and I think this outfit would be the perfect mix of glam and laid back to have a crazy night with the gang :-)

I love polyvore! I had trouble getting the earrings to show up, but I love this outfit.

This outfit isn't sequin-y or prom-y. I would definitely wear this on any cold special occasion.
#1.1 sarah c on 2009-12-23 10:23
Here's my outfit. Casual and dressy at the same time, neutral, but sparkly!

Sparkle, drapes, snakeskin, and buckles make a fun and festive outfit. Each piece can be re-mixed to create other great outfits!

#31 Cher (Homepage) on 2009-12-22 17:15

They are making you doing their fashion work for free!!!

This is just a cheap scam!!

These blogs are paid for by the companies that are "featured." Wonder why this blogger loves Target/Amazon/Forever 21 so much?!?! It is not because they have stylish clothes, it is because they pay to be on the website!
#32 Samantha on 2009-12-22 17:24
Hi Samantha,

Before you go around making shameless accusations, mind providing some proof or evidence? You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about...

I'm a faithful follower of BB. It really sucks I can never participate in any of the contests or giveaways because I live outside of the "continental USA". Why is this? Shipping fees are exactly the same for Hawaii, Alaska, and US Territories. BB, please stop leaving us out!
#33 sarahsosa on 2009-12-22 17:29
Man, I feel awful about this. It's been up to the companies thus far but I'll see what I can do to change their minds moving forward. Thx for the comment.

Polyvore and Party Dresses...two of my favorite things!!
#34 Marley on 2009-12-22 17:50

I love this look for a little bit of an edgier version of NYE. It's not too flashy but this outfit's full of little attention-grabbing details!

The Story:

Sue has been dating Jack for three years, and she thinks Jack is going to pop the question on New Year's Eve, because they are going out on a romantic dinner on his yacht to watch the fireworks on New Year's Eve.

Excited but nervous, she carefully chooses her outfit so that it is memorable years from today. She decided to go with a young fushia colored dress paired with gold toned heels and bag, and finally a statement diamond necklace to add some shine to the event. After all, it is new year's eve, and everyone should look their most glamourous.

Towards the end of the most romantic dinner Sue has ever had, Jack has finally popped the question at midnight with a sparkling diamond ring. Sue was so surprised with joy. They shared some champagne to celebrate the moment and danced the night away under the beautiful fireworks.

The End.

This was a fun little task - my first time using Polyvore! Here's the outfit I put together - simple, understated, elegant, festive:
#58 Rachel A. (Homepage) on 2009-12-23 02:17
I have always LOVED Rachel Bilson's casual style, but her red carpet fashion is impecable! She keeps things simple and elegant, but always sneaks in a little edgy touch. Her Edie Rose line for Macy's was primarily a collection of neutral pieces, but pops of yellow kept things current and exciting. I chose this yellow dress for that reason--it's a fun, standout piece for New Year's Eve! (Plus, being two months pregnant with my third child, the empire waist is rather forgiving!) Black tights and shoes keep the focus on the dress, and the black and white purse is a fun and feminine touch. The biker jacket and snake ring add some edge to an otherwise girly ensemble, and Rachel Bilson always rims her eyes with her trademark black eyeliner!
#59 Erin on 2009-12-23 03:37
Ahhh!!! Just noticed I accidentally copied and pasted my first draft comment! Here's the updated--and correctly-spelled!--version! (How embarrassing!)
