Alexa Chung to Design for Madewell

Alexa Chung to Design for Madewell

Now that her stint with MTV is over, British-bred Alexa Chung is partnering with Madewell to create a limited-edition fashion collection. The Alexa Chung for Madewell collection will reference the 26-year-old television personality, writer, model and style icon's sexy-tomboy look, and will include polka dot tea dresses, dungaree dresses, high-waisted skinny jeans, oversize wool jackets with velvet and lace accents, as well as tees with Chung's photographs and illustrations.

"Alexa's style is inspiring and inventive, yet unbelievably approachable and down-to-earth," says Madewell design director Kin Ying Lee. "The way she puts everything together is so spot-on—and so perfectly Madewell. What excited us the most about Alexa is that she has such a clear point of view, and she enthusiastically brings that to the collection."

Expect prices to be consistent with Madewell's other stuff, roughly $38 for a tee, $95 for jeans, $168 for a blazer. The Alexa Chung for Madewell collection will debut Fall 2010 and will be sold through madewell1937.com (which will also be launching ecommerce this spring) and in Madewell stores nationwide.

As much as I hate to admit it, I'd wear everything from the Madewell line in a heartbeat. And while I don't think I could pull of a lot of Alexa Chung's looks myself, her style is definitely fresh and inspiring. This is one celebrity collab I'm looking forward to.

Madewell's looks are all very grungy chic and urban. I'd wear anything from that line too. Too bad the jean's are 90ish. I'll just stick to my AE jeans, thank you
